I'm another reviewer who had problems with the latch. It has to be pushed down to actually latch which isn't that big of a deal, except for the fact that it is incredibly easy to UN-latch. Any nuzzling at all by a dog or a very light touch of a human hand is enough to unlatch.
I LOVE Vittles Vault airtight containers that spin shut, so I'm very disappointed in this.

I wish I had read other reviews before I purchased this. If I could return it without having to pay return postage I would. It's advertised to hold 15+ lbs., but will only hold 12-13 lbs. at most. The lid is hard to close so it really never seals, and the latch doesn't latch. Don't waste your money!

I purchased the Gamma2 Select 8 for Pet Food after two other containers I purchased were just slightly too tall for our pantry. This fits in the pantry fine but it sure doesn't hold 8lbs of food. The packaging claims it'll hold 8lbs of dog food or 10lbs of cat food; I managed to fit about 7.5lbs of cat food in it. It's still a nice container so I probably won't return it but it's less convenient than I was hoping.

I love the size of this container, however the latching mechanism is designed poorly and does not latch properly. If the container was to be pushed to its side or turned upside down, the contents would easily spill out.

They're okay... just okay, I'll use them but they are NOT airtight at all. I think a baby could open these, because the clamp to close it doesn't click or anything. They do look better than the ugly yellow and red containers I did have it in... so I will use them for the time being.

first it doesn't latch so it comes open easily and 2 it states the size I got would hold 25 pounds of cat food, I had a 14 pound bag and it wouldn't hold all of it

This container is sturdy enough, and I can even live with the loose/lazy latch, but the container is *not* air tight like the product description claims. I was using this to store rice and now there are bugs in my rice. Great.
