This is one major summer hit for my 2 year old. It makes soooo many bubbles! We play with it every day. Know that you don't have to use the blue liquid for big bubbles. You can use the regular green bubble solution for the small 7 bigger ones. My daughter can move the arm herself and loves that.

THIS PRODUCT IS MESSY! The battery compartment is NOT leak proof so be sure to absolutely clean it out after at the end of each day.

Lot's of bubbles = lot's of solution, it isn't magical solution that lasts long. I have tried many different brands including cheap dollar store stuff (which works but it nothing like gazillion bubbles brand) I recommend everyone make an at home bubble solution using this recipe:
6 cups water
1 cup light corn syrup
2 cups Joy dishwashing soap (If using an ultra concentrated dishwashing liquid, use only 1 1/3 cups)

Directions: 1 In a large bowl (at least 3 quarts) stir water and corn syrup until combined. 2 Add dishwashing liquid and stir very gently until well mixed. 3 (Try not to make any bubbles.) Dip (don't stir) bubble wands into bubble liquid and blow bubbles.

UPDATE: 4/22/2014

Machine is still running great, despite taking an absolute beating over the years from lot's of use, not cleaning it out after every.single.use and it's nasty habit to leak. I can see a part of the connector for one battery is a tad rusty (hopefully one day they will work on doing something to protect the batteries better) it still runs fine though.

I also recommend the Gazillion bubbles incrediwand . We bought it for around $13 from the big Toy store. The bubble solution ran out to fast but it was incredibly fun whilst it lasted. I next plan to get the Gazillion bubble hurricane.

I purchased both this item, the Gazillion "Cannon" and the Gazillion "Bubble Machine -Hurricane". The Hurricane makes hundreds of small bubbles, and it just keeps making them until you either run out of soap mix, the batteries die, or you turn it off. The kids love it. If you have a slight breeze in your yard you will have bubbles everywhere.

As for another reviewers comments, ALL bubbles will fall to the ground if you don't have a slight breeze to carry them along. It has nothing to do with the operation of the machine. I did find, however, that the operation of this "Hurricane" machine results in a slight vibration that will cause it to move along and fall from whatever table, or platform you have it on. You just need to watch it.

Unlike the "Hurricane" The "Cannon" has a replaceable wand connected to a handle. So, there is no "set it and let it go" by itself. The "Cannon" requires you to use the handle to push the wand into the solution, raise the wand back up to place it in front of the fan and the fan will then blow some very nice large bubbles. Keep in mind, these are not three foot bubbles. By "large" bubbles I mean 6 to maybe 18 inches. Many of the large bubbles will have smaller bubbles inside the larger bubble, very cool.

The larger bubbles are fun but, they are heavier than the small bubbles and tend to fall to the ground unless there is a nice breeze. Also, I found I get tired of lowering and raising the wand every time I wanted bubbles.

In conclusion; I thought it was more fun having lots of small bubbles going all the time, than having a few large bubbles that you had to make one ot two at a time.

I actually purchased this toy accidentally thinking I was buying the Gazillion Bubbles Hurricane that my sister's children love. However, we were pleasantly surprised by this mistake! This Bubble Cannon has already proved to provide HOURS of fun! It can be a little messy, but my 18 month old has the lever down pat and can easily operate this toy on her own. The ability to blow the really big bubbles and bubbles within bubbles has been a huge hit not only with my daughter, but also all of my nieces and nephews ranging up to 11 years old. I've also purchased a few as gifts and have heard nonstop raving from all of my friends! FUN SUMMER TOY!

Got this for my 19 month old for Christmas. First, be advised this thing takes 6 AA batteries. A little annoying at first but then I realized you probably want to use this thing outside in the grass or on a deck. Once you dip the attachments in the solution and pull the lever up to the air flow path, a little solution drips from the sides and down the front of the cannon. It's not a huge mess but the solution is a little on the thick side so cleaning it off the floor, especially porous surfaces is a little difficult. Also please note that the solution goes in a tray that attaches to the front, which can easily be spilled by an overzealous toddler pulling the lever. But the solution is the key. The blue solution really does make big bubbles, grapefruit to watermelon sized, although you could probably accomplish this with any bubble solution with a little dish detergent added in. The way the cannon works with the green solution is what really sold me. It creates a cloud of golf ball sized bubbles and it seems like the fan in the cannon is of the optimal power to do so. Definitely glad I got this.
