I purchased this to replace the wireless nic that came w my wife's HP laptop.

Her original non-intel wireless nic would randomly disconnect from our network and need to be dis/re enabled in order to re-connect.

Having this card in my Lenovo, it was my first choice. Once I ensured it was compatible, I ordered it.

It has the benefit of Intel WiDi (wireless display) which allowed us to remove the 25' HDMI cable we used in the living room to output video/audio to the TV.
This of course needed a WiDi receiver.
We use a Netgear PTV2000, with some minor connection issues. I suspect the PTV2000 is the issue since it is what I power cycle when issues arise and are resolved.

Lastly, it comes with 2 antennas which are still unopened as the laptop uses both connections.

In addition, it houses bluetooth ability which neither of us has used/tested.

I would recommend this for WiDi and wireless networking.

Random disconnects, throttled WiFi speed when Bluetooth is enabled. Promises of a driver fix from Intel has produced new drivers that still don't work correctly. My laptop is locked to this card and I can't put a different one in. Thanks Lenovo.

There are many Intel forum posts about the many problems this model has with Windows 8.1.
Here's a sample Intel forum posting topic :
Intel centrino wireless-n 2230 keeps dropping connection.

I've tried over a dozen drivers and other windows updates, and even updated my bios, I experience periodic wifi lockouts.

I have a Lenovo P500, running the newest intel driver version 15.12.0.6 published 2/25/2014

Never buy this wireless. It is very weak. I have fujitsu lifebook AH532/G52 with this wireless and it can't work normally even in next room
