This is chaga mushroom in powder form and you need to go through certain steps to make yourself some tea. The inconvinient part is that the water temperature needs to be at certain degrees or the mushroom may loose its beneficial elements. I actually thought I was buying the extract powder which is so much eaiser to consume and so much more potent and it desolves completely even in cold water. I made a mistake and purchased the chaga powder instead of the chaga extract powder so here I am just enjoying the tea.

UPDATE: Unfortunately, I have stopped drinking chaga tea altogether. I have found out on several occasions that the gums in different parts of my mouth develops a constant pain after drinking for a few days. THis is the type of pain that felt like I was having a toothache. This pain continues for about 24 -36 hours from my last serving and if I stop drinking, the pain goes away. In addition, I have had one time where I was brushing my tongue during brushing and the middle of my tongue started to bleed quite heavily for a few minutes. Not the sides, not the tip, but smack dab in the middle. Honestly, this freiked me out!

I'm not sure if it's my steeping process or that I drink 16 oz of it at a time (once in the morning and once at night), but this was enough to worry me to the point of no longer recommending this tea. As a result, I have downgraded my rating from 5 stars to 2 stars. Take my review with a grain of salt as it may still have vital properties that benefit others moreso than me.

ORIGINAL REVIEW:
I've been drinking this for 2 months now and my wife has told me on the second week she noticed my skin has toned up and looks more healthy. I drink water all the time and I'm in MN so it's not dehydration I experienced. The other chaga benefits won't be as immediate, but so far I don't have any reason to deny the claims and I will continue to drink this for its beneficial qualities and that it tastes like smooth tea.

This chaga powder is finely grounded with no chunks. This is how it should be because in my research, the finer the chaga the better so that all of the medicinal and antioxidant properties are extracted during brewing.

One thing I know I will grow tired of will be the steeping process.Read more ›

I wasn't amazed with it. The product is poorly packaged and I seriously questioned the quality for that reason when it arrived. It seemed a little too "harvested in my backyard" to be trustworthy. But the price is really good. Honestly the best price I've found yet on chaga (anywhere). I pay $5/oz here in town for it at the herb shop. The halite of grinding though... They marketed it like a fine powder and it's not. It's very gritty and doesn't dissolve. You have to simmer the chaga overnight to extract the tannins which is frustrating when all I want is a cup of tea. It takes a good 12 hours to really get the health benefits out of this because of the poor grinding. For the price though... It's kind of a factor of picking your battles. I have a grinder so it's not the worst. I certainly could feel the health benefits from it.

In researching Chaga I hope I have found the natural healing prescription. I have a daughter who has just finished her 7 weeks of grueling chemotherapy and radiation for stage 3 lung cancer when her lungs were clear, but the cells were in the lymph nodes. My eldest daughter has asthma and during a chest x-ray was sent immediately sent for a ct scan and they found a large mass in her left breast. I have oa, and I think it is time for all three of us to start a strong and close relationship with Chaga.

I have been taking it already for a week, and will continue for as long as it takes.

I do wish they would supply a small brochure letting people know how to use Chaga, and how many times a day. It is an interesting mushroom.

I like chaga and had high hopes for this Wild-Harvested Chaga powder, but this powder is gritty, like fine sand, and tastes awful. Didn't notice any benefits. I tried to strain out the gritty powder from the tea, but none of my tea strainers was able to get enough of the grit to make it sufficiently pleasant to bother with.

I much prefer the chaga my brother-in-law was able to gather from trees in the woods and forests in his area. Chunks of it provide a less-gritty tea that both tastes better and provides more noticeable health benefits, for whatever reason. It resolved his diverticulitis symptoms and for me it reduces muscle tension and both of us noted a feeling of well being from it.

My local healthfood market also started offering chaga chunks, which appear to be less tasty and beneficial than my brother-in-law's, but still better than the powder. I'll wildly speculate that taste and benefits vary widely between the chagas of different individual trees. Maybe someone more knowledgeable about chaga can fill us in on this.

Even with shipping, this product is cheaper than that at the local market, so kudos to the seller for that.
