I used this to transport approximately 700 oz of frozen breast milk. It kept the milk completely frozen with no distinguishable thawing for about 12 hours of transit time and seems likely that it would have kept it frozen quite a bit longer.

It was a heavey package so I'm not too surprised that the foam cooler split like it did

Verified Purchase

Shipped 80 lbs. of elk meat from Portland OR to Kansas City with three ice packs. Took 4 days and meat was still frozen with the exception of 3 2lb packages that were in the bottom. They weren't thawed just a little soft to the touch. The styrofoam cooler corners had busted but the cardboard box was still holding strong. It was a heavey package so I'm not too surprised that the foam cooler split like it did. All in all the meat arrived in good shape. It did what I wanted. Maybe next time I'll wrap the styrofoam cooler with duct tape to help hold it together or use two smaller cartons to keep the weight down.

Not the quality I'm accustomed to.

I purchased these to see if they would be a lower cost alternative to the shipping coolers I've used for years. Of the two ordered, one was split down the side upon arrival. The sizes appear to have been larger than expected while the wall thickness was not as thick as expected. I'm confident that if filled with product of any real weight it would collapse. If not filled to capacity the top seems that it would cave in during shipping. Maybe the small sizes would be better suited for shipping. I probably won't hassle with returning them but I also won't try to use them to ship anything of value.

Great for shipping frozen breastmilk!

We had 300oz of frozen breastmilk shipped from NY to GA (in transit for 48 hours) with no dry ice or ice packs and it arrived frozen solid! The box could easily hold 500oz of milk; the extra space we had was packed with lots of crumpled newspaper per suggestions we read online and it worked great!
