I bought this product for my elderly mother to replace the cloth cat pad she had been using which was ... well ... disgusting. She has two cats and a small house so her litter box is in the bathroom right next to the toilet. What drew me immediately to this product was a) the fact that it wasn't cloth <which traps any odors> and b) it matches her grey bathroom! She ended up trimming the back off of the mat so that it fits perfectly into the space she has, but even that speaks to the quality of the product; it cut clean and still retains all of its functionality. She loves that she isn't stepping on stray litter any longer and that she can just use the dustpan and brush to sweep up the caught litter or a sponge to clean the surface. She commented the other day that it would be just as easy to pick the whole mat up and carry it to the garbage (during BIG cleaning days) because it is thick and won't collapse and spill any litter. My mother is kinda a picky lady (not into change), so the fact that she immediately installed and adores this mat says volumes about it. No doubts that this will stay for many years and not have to be replaced! Awesome. Am hoping this company comes out with more products!

Day 484 of my imprisonment: This -thing- shows up on the floor to join a growing collection; however, it is more aesthetically pleasing than the others. It appears to be a barrier of some sort or an enchanted gateway that cleans my paws. The evil queen who lives with me and myself have both investigated it thoroughly and granted it passage. The day is chilly and my captors appear to be raving about how it feels "warm" compared to the floor. It is not heated, so they must be stupid. My captors appear to enjoy standing on it; I find it slightly squishy but acceptable. It is reminiscent of the odd stuff under the carpet in the living room. I overhear them say it keeps the carpets from sliding, so naturally this kind of thing must possess magicks.

The evil queen and I have done our best to spread the litter through to hallway, but this new magic barrier has been a great hinderance. The queen has complained it contains no crevices to hold her vomit. I concur with her lamentation. Captor 1 called upon the wicked Beast, who roared loudly and consumed our work. I am still not sure why they allow such a dangerous creature to live within these walls. Captor 1 seemed very pleased and spoke words of great kindness about it to Captor 2. Captor 1's satisfaction with the barrier seems to quell her nagging words and she calls upon beast less often. I have taken this into consideration concerning my mission to make the rest of the house smell better.

The witches who provided my captors with this magic barrier even emailed a helpful little guide about use and care. I have filed this under my mission notes pending my decision to make the house livable again at the cost of awakening the Beast.

There is no reason for me to give this product anything other than a 5 star review. The size is great for relatively standard sized litter boxes. I have an Omega Paw Self-Cleaning Litter Box, Pewter and a Litter Locker II Hygenic Soiled Litter Disposal System sitting atop this mat and it all fits nicely on top of the mat. I have posted a picture of my setup. Using this type of litter box, I have very little litter spill out, but when it does, most of it is trapped by this mat. The litter that does get trapped by the mat blends right into the grey color of the mat so it is really not necessary to shake it off too much. I guess one could say that this mat could be bigger, but no matter what some litter will get loose. This mat significantly reduces the amount of litter that makes its way to my carpet.

I have 3 male cats who are all very particular about the condition of their litter boxes - as well as the area around the boxes. They don't like any litter in what they feel are the wrong places.

Before this mat, cleaning up litter that they flung from their feet was something that I did several times a day. I don't have to do that any more.

The grid in the mat material, as well as the solid depression, grab hold of the litter before it hits the rest of the floor. Then all you have to do is vacuum it up or better yet, use a whisk broom and dust pan to sweep it up and put it back into the box, with no waste of litter.

As an added nicety, the color and pattern are eye pleasing and blend nicely with any decor.

I would definitely recommend this - and wish that I had found it years ago.

I ordered this and returned it in favor of the Wenzel Convoluted Camp Pad (Green) (also purchased on Amazon). The camp pad appears to be the same material, but is twice as large and twice as thick for slightly more than half the price. I cut it with a razor knife and now have two pads.

The petfusion color scheme is definitely nicer looking, but I can't justify $20 for one pad when I can get two for $13.00 made from material that is twice as thick. So choose it for style if you like, but for pure function, the camp pad is a much better value.
