Great fan, absolutely love it, this thing really cranks out some wind! Best part about it is that it will not 'walk' like a conventional fan when on full blast. Unfortunately it would not turn on when I first plugged it in and that seemed odd to me. Not wanting to go thru the BS of returning such a large item I figured I would try to fix it myself since it seemed to me that maybe some wires were not connected. So I had to drill out the rivets holding the switch cover on, and lo and behold 2 wires were loose due to a bad crimp! Crimped on a new terminal, plugged wires in and bingo! Then I just re-installed the cover and secured it with safety wire. I'm not gonna give this a 1 star rating because of it since I got it to work, after all it is a great fan that works really well, but quality control could have done a better job. Overall I would still recommend this fan.

Had my basement flood (again) and used this to speed up drying the floor and what little carpet is left. Wish I had gotten it the first time it flooded so I wouldn't have had to rip out most of the carpeting! Better late than never I guess.

OK, this works so well I just ordered another one! Basement has been leaking almost every time it rains here OR when what little snow we get melts. I suspect my house thinks it is a house boat!

Bought another one to line them up side by side and move the seepage towards the sump better; rather than having to reposition the first one over and over.

Money well spent! Don't hesitate to get one.

Also works great for when one of the cats or dogs throws up on the carpet and you need to clean it and dry it up fast.

If you have no experience with this type of air mover, you will LOVE this fan! It moves way more air (directed along the ground) than your typical fan. This type of fan is essential in the case of flood recovery.

However, it does NOT move 2900CFM of air. It moves roughly 1100CFM.

I bought this air mover online in addition to a Shop-Vac brand air mover from a local store. The Shop-Vac was only rated at 1600CFM. Once my ONE-29 arrived, I compared the two. I was surprised and disappointed that this ONE-29 moved LESS air than the Shop-Vac. I tested them both on high speed in a few ways, a few times each. The Shop-Vac definitely moved more air.

This fan has a few small benefits over the Shop-Vac...it cost $35 less, it is slightly quieter(just because it moves less air), it weighs slightly less, it can be daisy chained. Despite these minor benefits, the Shop-Vac simply outperforms the ONE-29. When it comes to drying my basement carpet & drywall asap, the fan that actually moves the most air will have the best chance of saving my basement. And, the Shop-Vac's CFM claim was TRUTHFUL!

Another reviewer mentioned that these fans will move a number of CFM that corresponds with the number of amps they draw ... despite what CFM they claim. As a rough estimate, 2.9amps ~ 1100CFM , 5amps ~ 1600CFM , 10amps ~ 2800CFM.

While I didn't have specific tools for measuring CFM, I had my 9yr old son help me test the Shop-Vac and the ONE-29. He stood in front of each and said, "The Shop-Vac blows harder." I told him that we needed some better tests. We then held a soccer ball in front of one and timed how long it took to cross the room and hit the opposing wall.Read more ›

Heavy duty, works just like the rental ones. We used it this time for a fresh water plumbing leak, and intend to use it in the 2 weeks of summer that are hot enough in the Seattle area to need serious cooling. It's noisy, but when you need to move the air this badly, I think it's worth it.

This fan was delivered promptly and while there was some damage to the packaging, there was nothing wrong with the unit itself. It ran very quietly and smoothly with no noticeable vibration.

Now for the bad news. It didn't even come close to the claimed 2900 CFM rating. Measuring with an anemometer to get the average wind speed and based upon the opening size, I calculated that I was only getting about 1100 CFM out of it. I checked my calculations and wind meter on another fan with claimed CFM of 500 and came out with 430CFM, so I think that I am in the correct ballpark with my measurements and calculations. And this makes a certain amount of sense. The smaller fan was a 1.4 amp and this was 2.9 amps, or slightly more than double. Assuming a similar motor efficiency, the CFM numbers that I came up with make sense.

So I returned it an purchased a unit with a claimed CFM of 4000 and a 13 amp motor. This unit didn't match it claims either (I got about 2800 CFM), but it proved adequate for my needs. With a motor with about 9 times the amperage, it put out about 6.5 times as much air as the smaller fan that I had. Not perfect, but as I said, acceptable for my needs in this case.

Not the biggest or most expensive air mover, but works great. I use it for pushing hot air dust and vapors out of my garage when im working in it. Not designed for this, But Im sure it helps dry carpets too?
