My darling puppy ate the original Roku remote so I bought this in an attempt to control the TV and the Roku LT. Super easy to program the TV. Roku was harder though. The directions state to try the various codes until the device turns off but a Roku never turns off; even the original remote didn't have a power button. After posting comments to the reviewers, I got the help I needed.

When programming the Roku start with the Roku in the "sleep" state. Press and hold the "SAT/STREAM" button and enter the code. Then press the "menu" button and the Roku should wake up and work with the remote. This did take me some time to figure out and like I wrote, I asked other reviewers for help.

The first remote that was sent to me got crushed or something in the package and I had to return it. Since I purchased it through Amazon, that return was slick. I recommend taking the risk on this remote and being patient while programming it. Seriously, for this price and the ease of returns, it is worth the time to try it and if it isn't right for you, then return it!

This was the cheapest remote I could find that claimed to support streaming devices like Roku and AppleTV. I just wanted one remote that could control both my TV and my Roku. And for only $10 (if you're an Amazon Prime member) this one worked perfectly for that! The remote comes with a book of codes for numerous components, including the Roku. The second code listed for the Roku worked best with my Roku 2. The only button that didn't work right away after entering the code was the Back button, but also included are instructions for programming this remote with the original one. I was able to use that process to turn whatever button I wanted into the Back button, so that wasn't too difficult to overcome (as long as you still have the original remote). All in all I'm very happy.

IIII LLLLOOVVVEEEE-IT!!!

I was so tired of fumbling 2 different remotes! But, I wasn't going to pay $100** for a remote to do it! So, I checked ebay and amazon for it. Needless to say, It was more expensive on eBay! So, I bought it here, and It was brand new when I received it!!! It works perfectly, very easy to manage, and it was a lot less than I expected!!!

This is not a high-end remote, but it does exactly what it needs to do. It controls an LG TV, Samsung SoundBar, Xfinity Cable Box and DVD Player.

Two Minor Issues:
- The center arrows could be larger for navigating TV Guide functionality
- I wish the volume function could be locked to only control the soundbar. It has a "lock" but only between "Cable/Sat" and "Audio." So if you hit the button for TV, it will start changing the volume on the TV. The channel button can be programmed to only change the channel on the cable box.

I needed a universal remote because I have an older ( 11 years?) Norcent DVD player I no longer have the remote for. I tested two different universal remotes. This RCA one and the GE 25008 Universal Remote ( available at Target). The GE managed to pick up a code and the RCA did not. I will compare and contrast for others who like me have an older electronic device.
-Judged purely as a remote the RCA is superior. It has many more specific function buttons and is more sensibly designed.
-The code search function on the RCA relies on your responding device having a modern touch sensitive power button that responds to electronic signals. Unfortunately my old dvd has an actual manual button you press and it's either in/on or out/off. The GE remote only requires that a device be on to learn codes not that a power button respond to it. The GE also has a better search function in that you just turn it on and it will search until it finds something and will let you know by turning the device off. It couldn't be easier The RCA has a more manual, cumbersome search feature where you have to keep ordering it to search. The RCA did not manage to learn a code for my old DVD player at all ( mostly because the DVD has a push button). The GE didn't find the exact code to give it full functionality but it did find a code and can issue some orders to the device. The RCA has a needlessly complicated code learning function that might be more difficult and less effective than other universal remotes on the market.
-The GE uses 4 digit codes. It comes with a long detailed code list but mostly for TVs. The RCA uses 5 digit codes. It comes with a smaller code list but has choices for more different kinds of components.

I got this specifically to try to replace my Apple TV remote control, which I'd lost... but none of the codes worked. It controls all my other devices, though (TV, cable box, Roku, etc.)... just note my Apple TV...

I admit it. I can open a computer and replace parts but programming a remote has always been a problem. So we've been using 2 remotes, one for the DVR/VCR and one for the cable box and TV. When the "4" key on the remote for the TV/cable box stopped working and I could only go to channels without a 4, I started looking a new remote to replace the original Brighthouse cable box/TV remote I was using.

The positive reviews (and super low price) on this RCA Rcrps04Gr 4-Device Universal Remote as well as Prime shipping made ordering it a no brainer. My worries were how long would it take to program or could I program it at all?

First thing I did was put the batteries in upside down. Incidentally you'll need two AAA batteries as they aren't included but for the price that's not a negative. Once I turned the batteries around the remote's backlight worked. That's a pretty neat feature in itself.

I read the manual but never got to Training. I also didn't follow the instructions in the Quick Start Guide. There are 8 steps listed to programming the remote using the Brand Code List included. These are the steps I used for each device:

1 - Looked up the proper code for Bright House under Cable Set Top Box on the Code Lists sheet. There were two codes listed.

2 - Sitting at my desk in another room (I should have been in front of the TV/cable box/DVR), I pressed the SAT CABLE STREAM button at the top left of the remote next to the POWER button. I didn't press the POWER button as the Quick Start Guide says to do. I kept pressing the SAT/etc button and the POWER button lit up.

3 - Still pressing the SAT/etc button, I put in the first 5 numbers on the Code List.
