I purchased this amp to replace a Rockford Fosgate T400-4 Power Series amp that was stolen when my car was broken in to. I couldn't afford to shell out $300+ for another T400. After much contemplating and comparison, I decided to go with Alpine MRX-F35. I was concerned about 2 things. While I know Alpine typically makes products that sound very good for their price point, I had gotten used to the T400 and it is truly a phenomenal amp. Loud, clear, and can play for hours at high levels without overheating. Also, I was concerned about the amount of power. Like Rockford Fosgate, Alpine lists power ratings at a bare minimum of what is expected from them, but all amps are tested and a "birth sheet" comes with the amp that tells you the exact power the amp put out under testing. The T-400 put out 128 watts per channel at a 2 ohm load, and my JBL components are 2 ohm. When I got the Alpine, its test sheet stated 108 watts per channel at a 2 ohm load, which is way over the listed 85 watts, but still 20 watts less than the Fosgate. That being said, I never had the gains turned up very high on the Fosgate amp because it was so powerful it wasn't necessary.

Once I had everything installed with the Alpine amp driving things, my concerns were eliminated. The sound quality is amazing. Its not better than the T400, but to my ear, its just as clear and clean. Also, I have the gains turned up a little higher than I did on the T400 and am getting plenty of power with no clipping or distortion. Gains are set at barely past the half way mark.

As for the connections, they are solid and I was able to get enough torque on the set screws to feel good that the wires will not wiggle loose and the set screws did not strip at all.Read more ›

This amp is amazing! I have a set of Alpine 6.5" E Components and an Alpine 10" E Subwoofer, pushes them both without any heat problems. The sound improved when I installed this amp as well. Great little amp and I have no doubt it will last for awhile!

The birth certificate on this amp reads 107 watts so I was pretty please. I am powering a set of 6.5 Alpine S series componant speakers and a set of 6.5 Alpine s series coaxials, and I get distortion about 2/3 of the way up the volume spectrum. I did not install it so maybe I have to adjust the gains to my liking. If that does not work I will just get a crossover and cut out all the bass signal I send. Other than that this thing send nice power and I can easily hear my mids and highs at 70 mph in a 4x4 with a lift and large tires.

Went into my local car audio shop to buy this amp and they wanted $350 for it. As a loyal amazon shopper I knew i would save some money buying on amazon but $150 wow. Also purchased JBL GT928's and JBL GT638 6.5" speakers that are powered by this bad boy. The sound is amazing and though I went for JBL speakers I believe alpine makes the best amps on the market

I have this pushing all Rockford Fosgate speakers and the power is very clean. Excellent sound quality and 2 ohm stable in all channels which means you can power up to 8 speakers! Great amp to compliment my Alpine MRV-M500 mono amp

This is a very nice amp it pairs well with the DDX470 and the kicker ds393s it puts out stable power and has pleanty to spare my birth sheet reads 119 watts rms x4 @2 ohms which is impressive considering it is advertised as 85x4 @2ohms every one is different but guarenteed to put out 85×4 @2ohms rms or 55watts×4ohms rms or more the bass out put is excellent it feels like their is a Sub in the back seat..I picked this amp over all others because it is the nicest and what i believe the best budget amp in the 140-200 price range all music sounds clear and precise....BUY this amp!!!!
