I ordered two bags of the "Glofish 5-Pound Aquarium Gravel Bag, Black with Fluorescent Highlights" and it looked nothing like the photograph which shows a colorful bag of gravel. What I received has about a 90% black / 10% color ratio (I'm uploading a customer image, so please see above). I had to place a second order for "Glofish 5-Pound Aquarium Gravel, Bag Pink/Green/Blue Fluorescent". The bags are heavy, so it costs about $10 in shipping. I hope my review helps others avoid the frustration I had to experience.

Purchased 2 5-lb bags of this gravel from Petco for $4.99 each. This product, the GloFish branded gravel, not the Petco branded also available on Amazon. 2 bags was a good amount to cover the bottom of a 10 gallon tank. See customer image for an idea of the black to color ratio that comes in the bag and decide if you want to add additional color with one of the standalone or 3 color bags. Tank system is the 10 gallon GloFish tank kit that comes with most of what you need to get a small tank set up (tank, hood, flourescent LED lights, filter, purifier solution, heater, and a small food packet).

Looks spectacular under the Marineland led light. Even if you do not have the special lighting, it still looks beautiful with the wonderful colors. Try adding black colored gravel under first then add the layer of the glofish gravel. The two blend would give your aquarium a lively look.

The rock is very clean, and didn't require much rinsing, but take a look at the picture I have tagged in my review. I must have received the runt of the litter when it came to getting colorful pieces. It would be nice if GloFish could improve their quality control over the production of the items so they appear as the photo shows...

I knowingly bought these for my succulents and my little cactus pots. It helps keep the dirt in and makes my pots look nicer. I washed them first as the package clearly states. I thought they would be safe if they were for aquariums. Up close, they look like they were painted white but you can't tell from a distance. For the price, I think they are a great deal. But I didn't buy them for the glow. Also they are a bit larger than I expected but they still work well.
