I needed an easy way to get my new SSD boot drive going and this was the trick. Read on to see why I only gave it four stars.
I've been a bit anxious that my Dell XPS 8500 came with a Seagate boot drive. I've had too many Seagates fail to trust them. My new Kingston HyperX 3K 240 GB SATA III 2.5-Inch 6.0 Gb/s Solid State Drive SH103S3/240G didn't include any way to clone the boot drive so I got this kit.
Rather than use the CD, I downloaded the latest version of EZ Gig cloning utility. Plugged in the USB adapter. Ran the utility. Screwed the SSD drive into the 3.5" carrier and installed/connected it. The computer booted as before and the hard drive score in the Windows performance test went from 5.9 to 7.9.
The USB cable on the drive adapter is short, so you'll need a place to rest the drive that's close to a USB port ... or a USB extension cable.
What I did not realize is that I could have cloned the drive without purchasing anything. I already have a USB/ESATA hard drive cradle that will take 2.5 and 3.5" drives, but I've not used it in a while. The EZ Gig software seems to be free. Well, I needed the adapter to fit the 3.5" bay, and the kit was not expensive.

Used it on a Dell 15R Inspiron model N5010 to upgrade the stock 500gb HDD to a 256gb SDD.

The cloning was absolutely flawless. I simply plugged in the new SDD to the USB, ran the program, and it cloned a perfect copy. I didn't have to mess with the settings/preference in any way whatsoever. Just clicked the button and it did everything perfect. After I installed the new SDD, the computer booted up Windows with no issues... it was as if my PC was oblivious to the fact that I changed anything at all.

Great product. It was also cheaper than the other alternatives, so I have no clue why anyone would spend more on another option when this one works great.

Clonning has never been this easy. With Vision Tek all you need to do is put the CD in the drive and follow the simple and uncomplicated instructions. I recommend vision Tek for all trasfers and migration from HDD to SSD for its (1) simplicity (2) ease (3) speed in cloning. To me it is one of the fastest and easiest cloning kits out there today.

Works well. For those that said they can just download the software and not buy this, the software checks for this piece of hardware. When it works, it works quite well... I set up 3 drives with this thing but I had issues with it being recognized correctly. I don't know if it was the dongle or the usb port but sometimes I'd have to try again and again before it would work.

Popped in the software, installed the software, upgraded it and followed the instruction and within no time my windows files were transferred from my smaller drive to larger drive. No need to reinstall windows and have to reinstall drivers and programs. Worked great.
