If I had paid almost $300 for this, I would have been enraged. But since I only shelled out $104, I'm OK with my purchase.

The instructions were easy and I slapped this thing together in 20 minutes. It's as tall advertised and it looked like the picture on the page.

What I don't like is that the materials do seem to be sub-par. The carpeting is going to be shredded in a few months, it doesn't cover all the board surfaces, and started to shed as soon as it was removed from the box. As for the boards themselves, I did a little research. The Go Pet Club website states that the board material is wood. This is misleading as the material is pressboard. Though such a material is made FROM wood, it is NOT a solid piece of wood. The tower perches don't seem that sturdy, and the center of gravity of the tree is a little high, so a larger cat (let's say a 20-pounder) might get it to tip. My cat is smaller, so I don't see any of this being a problem. But as I said earlier: if the asking price is more than $104, stay away!

I had to edit this review after I spoke to a customer service person from Go Pet Club. Both her and I were in agreement that pressboard or particleboard should never be considered wood. When I asked her how we were going to resolve this breach in consumer trust, she told me that there was nothing she could do as her boss (and only other person at the company) would not be in until the end of the month. After pressing her on the matter, I was hung up on. A call back was attempted, but only went a full voicemail box.

BEWARE OF GO PET CLUB!!!

The only reason I gave this product one star is because I couldn't give it "zero" stars. In less than 2 weeks, one of the pressed wood shelves broke off. My husband cut a piece of plywood and we replaced it with "real" wood. We had been wondering why our cat never used the top perch and we found out why when we were replacing the broken shelf. The top perch was so loose and flimsy that it is about to break too. So, my husband is fixing that too.

I imagine we'll end up replacing all the tiers before year end. It would have been easier to get the blueprints and build our own. Total junk!!!! Don't buy this product!!!!!!

Loved it: The tower rocks a bit on our carpet when the cat tried to climb it but after a week or two he didn't seem to mind the unsteadiness of it. He refuses to get on the tallest levels with the mice so I removed the tallest one so he could sleep on the top of the house but still play with the other mouse. I loved the tower, it had everything we wanted, all of the sisal, the narrow width, the height so the cat could look out the window and the house. The price was right and the cat is on the tower all the time playing, sleeping or looking out the window, we have had it for 3 months now and don't know what we would do without it.

Disappointed: The small platform with the rope is the most used level for the cat to get up to the house, and then to jump down to the floor. Yesterday I noticed that platform move almost like a pendulum when my cat tried to jump up to the house and with further inspection, the "wood" that it is anchored too is cheap particle board, which has basically fallen apart (there is a crack almost completely through it from the front to the hole and looks like a bunch of dust was glued together and called "wood"). We took the rope level off for safety until my husband figures out a way to reinforce the cheap particle base that it attaches too. The bases are NOT wood and should have been made from a solid piece of ply wood.

cats love it...removed the mice before it was put together and still drag them out from the secret hiding place. our large cat does not feel secure on higher levels, but the 5 lb mini cat climbs it like a crazed monkey and enjoys taking swipes at our heads as we pass by. i was concerned about their sanity becoming apartment cats after being outdoors and active hunters, but this has certainly helped keep them entertained.

I had to make a few adjustments to this cat tree to make it fit into my small space but it worked out well in the end. I have to mention that the poles are rather narrow and I don't feel that they are sturdy enough for large cats. They wobble a bit when my cats jump off of them. But for the price, this was a good buy.

My cat absolutely loves this thing! It's very easy to put together but you need someone with muscle to help you out! When I put mine together it wasn't very sturdy just because I could only tighten the pieces together so much. Afterwards I got my boyfriend to tighten them up all the way and it's amazing. My cat jumps, climbs, leaps, and scratches all over it. You can tell he has so much fun and he really loves the top perch! Plus it really keeps him from trying to climb other things like my christmas tree and curtains.
