I assumed incorrectly that the states would fit together. I bought this with the intention of using all 50 states in a frame, coloring in the states we've lived in(military family). Not sure what map/image of the US they were using, but Louisiana is not the same size as Texas as this set depicts. Nor is California smaller than Florida. I could go on as many of the states are just ill proportioned. The pieces do not fit together and are not to scale in any way. Kinda bummed, but I'll figure out something to do with them. Would be super cool if the pieces fit together to create the US as a whole, though. Something to keep in mind!

These will work for a few projects but if you were planning on building the whole US map or putting states on the same page, think again -- the sizes vary greatly from state to state, with Texas being about the same size as Alabama and Georgia, and 'extra' states (bits of veneer that don't match the shape of any state) also included in the package. All in all not my favorite SC product ever!

These pieces do not fit together. I wasn't expecting them to lock like a puzzle, but I was expecting to get the ballpark shape of the United States. They aren't even close. CA is about as large as NV. TX is about the size of LA. UT, CO, NM, and AZ are huge, creating a hole that makes it seem like three or four states are missing in the middle of the country. These are not good pieces if you want to use the set together. Breaking them apart for different projects makes the flaws less noticeable.
