I have mostly used standard fixed weight dumbbells so far, and this is the first time I bought adjustable dumbbells. These offer the flexibility of using one set for all your workout needs simply by adding or removing weights from the bar depending on what you're doing. Quick thoughts on this set so far:
CONTENTS AND WEIGHT - 2 bars, 4 collars (2 for each bar), 52.5 lbs weights for each dumbbell broken down into 8 x 5 lbs, 2 x 2.5 lbs, 2 x 1.25 lbs. Note that these weights add up to 47.5 lbs, but the bar along with the collars adds up to the remaining 5 lbs. You may wish to keep this in mind when adding on weights. With fixed dumbbells, I usually curl 30 lbs each side, which means that with this set, I need to add only 25lbs weights because the bar makes up for the remaining 5 lbs to give a total of 30 lbs. I initially added full 30lbs weights and found it heavy, only to realize later that I had not factored in the weight of the bar and collars. The set also includes 6 spare rubber washers for the bars.
MATERIAL - The weights are made of cast iron with a black paint. They look built solid, and the paint has been holding up so far after several months of use. The weights did have a few chips here and there, but nothing of concern because you will only be using the bar to grip the weights. I know some reviewers mentioned a paint odor, this was not the case with the set I received. The bar and collars are made of standard chrome material with ridges in the middle for grip. If the ridges bother your skin, you can simply wear workout gloves when using these dumbbells.
OPERATION - It is fairly straight forward to add and remove weights from the bar. The collars are simple to screw on and remove for this purpose.Read more ›

Sup bros !!! Just received this set of Dumbbells couple of days ago. Very happy with the quality. Gym quality. Quick bro tip . From the reviews people have been saying the paint chips off of the plates . To counteract problem ; go to your local hardware store and buy a clear coat spray . Solves the issue all together. Secondly . Someone looking to add a little more weight . Protek sales 10 lb plates (10 x 4 =40lb ) for 50 bones . So you can easily increase the weight on these bad boys . And three golds gym sales a sick a organizer for the plates . Holds plates just like when you go to the gym . Makes the home gym set up look legit plus it just looks hella clean . Also I see a good bench is hard to come by for a decent price. Again gold gym bench ( xr 5.9 ) is a awesome bench . Again only 50 bones from Walmart . Has a 410 lb weight limit ( counting the weight using and your body weight ) . For the average guy weighing 180 to 200 lb . The bench is perfect . Alright gentleman make those gainz !!!!
