I am a pilot for a living so I go through security several times a day and need a security friendly laptop case. This one fits the bill. I bought this because I had another Case logic that finally gave up after 5 years of airline travel.

Another reviewer mentioned that you should buy the previous model to save a few bucks. When I was doing my shopping the difference was about five dollars, and that one does not have the sleeve for a tablet on the inside. For me this was worth the extra few dollars.

This case exhibits Case Logic's usual rugged construction and solid zippers. I like that this model has plenty of other pockets, and space for cords, and even a spot for a small binder or portfolio.

Because I go through security so much I'm a big fan of the airport friendly design. This case is pretty much universally accepted by TSA and makes grabbing and going really easy. The mostly black design is a little boring but professional, which is good for my job.

My only complaint, and why this case got 4, not 5 stars is that the strap on the back that's designed to go over the handle of your roll-aboard is just about half an inch to small for my suitcase. I've solved this by simply taking out the stitching on one side, but it was a little inconvenient. It wasn't a problem on a similar product that this one replaced. That being said, I do have a roll-aboard that's designed for flight crew so the handle is wider than most, and if you have a normal one this should not be a problem for you.

The same case is about double at my local office supply store so this is a pretty good deal.

I bought this bag to use for carrying my electronics back and forth from home to work, as well as the occasional flight. This bag takes care of it all for me. I am able to put my beast of a laptop (17.3" screen at about 8lbs) in the rear compartment, put my iPad 2 (in an otterbox) in the tablet pouch, with out the screen cover :( as well as a planner and other misc papers in the center-front compartment. In the admin pouch I can keep the massive power brick, wireless mouse, thumb drives, keys, and other small miscellaneous items. In the front zipper pouch I am able to hold spare pens, my wallet, 30ft of 550 cord, and other important papers that I need to keep within easy reach.

Going through the TSA screeners I had no problems unzipping the middle zipper and running it through the x-ray station without having to empty a thing. It was so much nicer not having to gut my bag to get through the screening stations!

With all the gear I put in my bag I am willing to bet that I am hauling 30lbs worth of stuff, and the shoulder strap is handling it like a champ! The handles are comfortable and are ready to be grabbed when needed.

I personally own the ZLCS-114. I've handled the new case in stores and I honestly don't see how it is much different from the older model. I suggest saving a few bucks and ordering the older model. The laptop I transport in it is a HP Pavilion DM3-1130US 13.3-Inch Laptop and it fits neatly into the Caselogic ZLCS with a little room to spare. This is the perfect laptop case for the student, business person or even casual user on the go. It has a plethora of storage compartments ranging from memory card sized to compartments the full height and length of the case. Along with my laptop, I can easily store a spare battery, my power brick and cord, an external DVD drive with some disks, a novel, a phone, my wallet, a compact digicam, pens and folders; ...and still have room to spare. Pockets and compartments are well laid out and items inside are easy to get at. I don't travel much, but I can see the Grab and Go feature being a boon to busy travelers in a hurry at the airport, as well as the straps that attach it to a rolling bag.

Construction quality is what I've come to expect from Case Logi. In other words, very good. I've owned it for over a year now and everything appears well put together and the materials durable. There are no signs of wear yet. The straps are sturdy. I especially like the large nylon zipper pulls, as I've had my share of metal ones break after a short period of time. I'd have to rate the padding exceptional too, though I hopefully won't have to test it myself.Read more ›

Let me start by saying I love the many pockets and the way the zippers are so smooth. My external hard drives fit perfectly in the front organizer pocket along with my phone charger and other electronics. The case opens up smoothly which is good. I travel a lot and I feel these smooth zippers and neat organizer will save me so much time trying to locate the things I need.
I just got this case from the mail and the first thing I noticed is the case is smaller than I expected. My Lenovo Z400 barely fits in this case. The sides and bottom seem protected but I'm disappointed by the fact that there is absolutely no padding on the top side of the case. I hope I don't drop this thing on it's head.
Overall, the case is a good concept but I wish it were slightly larger with more padding. It seems this case was not built with total protection in mind.
