Bought this bipod hoping for the best given the low price point. Slapped it on my Savage MarkII .22 bolt action and have had nothing but great results. Operates magnificently, looks great. Took me a few minutes to figure out how to mount it, but only because I've never used a bipod on my rifles before. Once I figured it out it was actually pretty simply to mount. The swivel feature is a nice addition, as it lets you adjust your position in the field or just center the bipod if your sling swivel stud is slightly off-centered. Nice purchase.

Great bipod that is fairly sturdy. Easy to adjust and fit on your weapon. The reason I didn't give this bipod five stars is because after a few shots the screw that tightens the bipod always becomes lose, that being said I have it attached to a .308

I received the bipod within 2 days after ordering it. The quality of the product is exceptional. It has an all metal construction and feels very durable. It perfectly attached to the sling swivel, and after tightening it down, it felt solid (unlike some cheap one's I've used before that would wobble loose, or never tighten down properly).

Btw, this product was attached to a .308 Savage bolt action rifle.. =)

For the exceptional price, this is a steal. Highly recommended!

Very sturdy bipod, stands up to my .270 with no complaints. Every once in a while the thumb screw that secures the bipod to the sling mount will work loose, so developing the habit of checking the thumb screw every few magazine changes works just fine. I'm sure a little locktite will fix it, but I'm perfectly fine checking it by hand!

The legs are spring loaded and adjustable from 6-9", with a thumb screw to lock in the length for any length between 6 and 9. At 9", the legs lock into place without the use of the thumb screw. A simple catch-release snaps the legs back from 9" to 6".

Excellent product. Could only be better if made in USA.

- The bipod attaches to the sling stub VERY Securely. (note: I'm using it on a new Ruger American)

- The bipod allows for the use of a sling

- The leg spring tension is perfect. The legs slide out of the housing smoothly, and lock in place. You can retract them with the push of a button, or twist the knobs to lock them in place. very well designed. Only complaint is that they are a bit too noisy. if I were hunting I would be very careful how I un-fold the legs and slide them out. honestly, If I were on the stalk I would probably unfold (but not extend) the legs prior to getting close to the animal.

- The build quality is excellent, better than what I would expect for the price. The paint/finish is good and uniform.

- There is a bit of padding where the forearm of the rifle meets the bipod. Once tightened down (and you can tighten it quite a bit) there is no play in the connection to the rifle.

- I don't notice the added weight of the bipod on the rifle.

What I would improve -

Making the bipod a bit quieter would be nice. My only other complaint relates to the screw which is used to tension the clamp on the sling stud. The screw tightens up against the underside of the forearm rest, and the threads on the screw could be a bit more durable. I was able to tighten the screw quite tight without any problem, but I am concerned that the threads will prove insufficient with regular, long term use. Even with this (potential) problem I would still buy this item again.

Ultimately, the animal you take deserves your best shot. If you feel a bipod will enable you to make your best shot, I think this is an excellent option.

While I prefer notched legs for range shooting from an elevated platform (i.e., a table), this bipod will work quite well in the backcountry where level positions are few and far between. With that said, I was able to get the height exactly right with the proper cheek weld for sighting in my Savage in .223 Remington to less than 1 MOA at the range. The construction seems to be on par with the much more expensive market leader (the "H" brand), and it provided a stable mount for exacting purposes. I have not attached this to a heavier recoiling rifle, so I can't write to its sturdiness against more wicked calibers.

Without leg notches, this would normally be three stars. But at this price point and construction quality, it gets four despite a little extra work to attain the optimal positioning.

I put this on my Savage .308 and it has help up well for the price. When tightened securely to the sling post it is steady but after a few shots it can become rather lose. If I am at the range I am tightening it a after every few shots but I know that is asking a lot from a rather cheap bi-pod. Out in the field and hunting when you are only firing once or twice it is great.

I should have gone with the same model I normally get, but I tried to save a couple of bucks and got what I paid for.

The feet don't drop out or spring out. No. You have to forcible pull them out and then hope the cheapy latch/lock on them doesn't give.

If you don't plan to ever use the adjustable part, it's still barely worth putting on your gun. And it is shakey, even with a .270win and light loads, let alone on my .308 with standard loads.

My advice - spend the extra $15 and get an Allen Co. bipod. When I have some spare cash, I will be throwing this one out and doing so. Very disappointing, I normally love BlackHawk, but this thing is barely worth the metal it was scratched from.
