This is a beautiful sofa cover for our leather sofa. We have cats, however the real reason I ordered this was because our heads were damaging the sofa back - the leather was changing colors. We had a company fix this problem. It did not make sense to repeat this problem. In order to keep the cover in place on a leather sofa, you will need to use a non-skid under carpet product. Cut it into pieces and place it directly on your leather sofa, then put the cover on. It has been washed several times and looks like new.

I don't normally write reviews, but I have bought so many of these furniture covers to go on my furniture, and they either wouldn't stay on, or the ones that stayed on, were hard as crap to take off or put back on. So I was so surprised when this arrived and it actually works great. The back of the cover is extra long, so it stay on the back part of the couch where other ones would always slide off. Also it stays in place well. I have a real padded couch and it fits it just fine, and I was able to get a cover that matched my couch. The look and feel of it is great too, it has a real nice look about it. I am very pleased with this product. If you have animals and have been searching for something to protect your couch that looks good, stays on, and easy to take off and put back on, then this is it! I hope this helps somebody.

My mother has a cat that likes to jump up onto her leather sofa and leave little claw holes in the cushions as she does so. I purchased this as a Christmas gift, but I had to return it. I feel like it certainly would have solved the claw problem if we had been able to make it fit, but we couldn't make it work on her type of sofa. Her leather sofa has 3 back cushions that are semi-attached, and that is not a good style with this cover -- it makes the back of the couch just too "thick" or something. There was more than enough material there to cover it, but it looked terrible. No matter how we tucked and adjusted, the cover just looked kind of pulled at the arms area and strange at the top. Also, be aware that this is for a quite long sofa. My mother has a long sofa with three cushions on the seat and it fit pretty well in length. But I would not buy it if you have the kind of cushions along the back like she does, where at the top of the cushions they look as if they might be loose, but they're actually not. Also, make sure you can tuck something in well where the back meets the seat. On my mom's sofa, it just wasn't deep enough to tuck anything in very well. In fact, I recommend taking a quilt and throwing it on your sofa and tucking it in just to get an idea of what a cover will look and fit like. I think if I had done that, I would have realized that no cover was going to look good on her sofa.
As for the material, it is velour. I knew that, of course, but when I actually saw it I didn't really like it. Just imagine your sofa in velour squares, and see if matches your decor style before ordering. It was, however, very soft and cozy feeling, especially now when it's cold outside. But I wouldn't want to sit on it in the summer.Read more ›

I have waited 3.5 months to write a review to be sure it passed all the tests: durability, color retention,ease of use. It has passed all with flying colors. The sable color is amazing at not showing dirt or wear; it came through the washer (top loader, delicate cycle) and dryer in perfect shape (no shrinkage or threads loose). I have a 4.5 year old 80 pound male Rhodesian Ridgeback/Boxer mix who jumps and sleeps on this every day. I am astonished at its strength and good looks. I have washed it only once as it seems to shed dog hair and any other type of dirt or stain without washing yet retaining its clean look. Truly astounding.
I do have to rearrange and tuck it in fairly often, but it is such a simple easy chore compared to my old slip-cover, I do not complain at all.

We have a sofa with a recliner on each end. We were using a regular sofa cover due to our kitty wanting to cuddle with us, and she also likes to hang out above our heads. However, we were unable to lean back on the recliners due to the cover preventing motion. We would leave the foot rests in the up position, because it was a bit of a pain to move the cover squirt around to allow the motion. Plus, the cover was getting scrunched up constantly.

Then came the quilted cover. It is just wonderful. Now, we can fully recline, and kitty just loves the feel of the velvet.

I read the reviews for the other non-velvet covers, and people were complaining how much they moved around. We do have to readjust this one a bit after reclining completely, but nothing like the previous cover, and I imagine nothing like the non-velvet covers.

Upon arrival, I had to throw it in the washer immediately due to the chemical smell. It survived the washing machine just fine and I put the dryer on permanent press instead of low. No shrinkage as far as I could tell. The cover is well made and appears that it might survive a lot of abuse.

Our sofa is quite large, so the back only extends about halfway down. However, the length seems sufficient enough to keep it in place.
