Ingredients

Prewashed quinoa dehydrated mushrooms, toasted onions, salt, spices & herbs. Packaged in a facility that also processes tree nuts.

Directions

Boil 2 cups of water in a small saucepan, add contents of quinoa bag. Reduce heat to low, cover loosely and cook for 20 minute or until liquid is absorbed. Turn off heat and let stand for 5 minutes. Fluff with a fork and serve.

This brand recently popped up in my local Weis supermarket next to the Near East brand quinoa blends. After having sampled both of the Near East varieties, I was slightly disappointed in the flavor intensity of this product. I was caught off guard by the extremely mild taste considering that spices are listed in the ingredients. The mushroom flavor is also very mild and I can imagine someone who doesn't enjoy mushrooms liking this. This may be a plus if you'd like to add your own spices and vegetables. I added some ground peppercorn and sea salt on the second tasting and that seemed to bring out more of the flavor.
This mix contains dried mushroom and onion pieces which vary from very large to tiny depending on the container. I'm giving this four stars for the fact that the ingredients are 100% natural, the mild taste makes this mix very versatile, and that one container will last you a looong time.

The quinoa was very bland and had weird sand like substances mixed into the quinoa. Not the best for my taste. I may not want to try again.

Title says it all. Both my husband and I felt this was inedible. And we had a box with 3 flavors. They all had the gritty sand bits. We were disappointed as we have tried a lot of quinoa, and never had this problem.
