We have a 65lb English Bulldog with a 32 inch girth. After reading the reviews we decided to go with the XL. I think he would have also fit in a Large but it's nice that he has more floats with the XL. It is a little bit too long but everything else fits fine. Can't wait to take him out on the lake once it warms up!

I have two small puppies, a Papillon and a Pomeranian, both about 3lbs. The xxs fits them both very well. Of all the life jackets I looked at, I feel like these were the least bulky for smaller dogs. The pad for under the chin seems thick and bulky, but necessary for keeping their head above water if they fall overboard. I've attached pictures of our little Pom to help others get an idea of fit. He doesn't look too thrilled, but it's better to be safe than sorry while we are on the boat!

I have a small, 20 lbs. Jack Russell/Corgi/Beagle mix and the family dog, a large 80 lbs black lab. The lab LOVES to swim, and my little dog has learned to swim as well. However, with her tiny corgi legs and long, sausage-shaped body, swimming can be hard and it makes me nervous as only her nose seems to stay above the water. So I knew after the second round of her swimming that I needed to buy a life jacket for her. I began surfing amazon and other retailers for a good life jacket, but I didn't want to spend $60+ for a recreational jacket. This jacket was the one with the most positive reviews and seemed to be good quality. I have to say, I couldn't be happier!
I do a have a few details to mention: First of all, after looking at reviews, I wasn't sure whether to get a small (the size that all the dimensions say she should fit) or listen to the reviews and get a size up. Her girth and length as well as her weight were all in the middle or towards the upper end of the small ranges. However, I followed the reviews and got a size medium. I figured that when the jacket arrived, I could try it on her and see how it fit. If it didn't work, I could always return it. Well, the jacket is packaged so that there were 2-3 plastic ties closing the bottom of the jacket. Therefore there was no way I could try it on without cutting the ties. However, everything worked out just fine. The girth fit her perfectly (though the buckles are tightened almost as far as they can go) and the length was perfect. Though I think I was saved by how long her body is, otherwise the jacket would have been too long. So I know this might not be super helpful, but it's kind of a guessing game with the size.Read more ›
