After smashing the glass on my iPhone 4, I began the cumbersome search for a solution. Replacement and factory repair were way too pricey yet I was intimidated to attempt a repair on my own. I didn't want to be without my phone for days so, with the calming reassurance of assistance from my mechanically-inclined boyfriend, I decided to research screen replacements.

There are a lot of screen replacement kits out there. Some have the LCD and some don't, some have tools that are cheap. It's horrible reading all of those reviews and very confusing. Don't be tempted to buy something that's $12. You get what you pay for.

This is what you want.

In under two hours, I had my phone disassembled, the screen replaced, and the phone back in full operation. Having a laptop open to the iCracked YouTube page and watching the tutorial while completing the repair was a huge help. It took the edge off of those inevitable moments where you wonder if you're pushing or pulling too hard on a little wire. And the guy who performs their YouTube tutorials gives you excellent tips and tricks to make the process even easier than it looks in the instructions. It felt like having an expert in the room with me. (Actually, I guess I did!).

This kit has everything you need except for a hair dryer (to loosen some adhesive) and a knife. I didn't have the suggested pocket knife but used a kitchen knife instead and it worked just fine. The tools are awesome and the little screwdrivers are magnetic, a huge help with the tiny screws. It comes with everything you need and more, including bumpers

Tip: Since the instruction mat comes folded and doesn't lie perfectly flat to serve as a place to hold screws, go to a craft store and buy a little stack of small, round magnets.Read more ›

I am really glad that I chose to buy from this company. I was really worried after reading many of the reviews of other replacement screens. This is the one to buy. It was worth every penny. The full tool kit is very professional and I will keep it's contents for other uses. The tools are not cheap plastic but rather a good quality build. The kit also came with a screen protector an iphone bumper case and a drink coozy. You really are getting what you pay for when you buy from icracked. I will buy from this company again. Also, the instructions for installation were perfect and easy to read with detailed photos.

I dropped my phone and cracked the screen. Even though it is an iPhone 4, I weighed the benefits of having it repaired ($99) versus upgrading ($199). I read a lot of reviews and it seems that that are two levels of DIY replacements. The $30 ones seem to be hit or miss. This one is at the top end of the spectrum and is everything it advertises. The screen clarity is good. The flow chart was a big help. The tools worked perfectly. Installation was easy if you take your time and follow the directions. It also helps to watch their YouTube video and follow along with each step. I also found that a piece of masking tape turned sticky side up is great for holding the screws. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to save some money and save their iPhone.

Amazon's one size fits all product marketing would lead a buyer to believe that this kit is no different than the ones that are $30. Nothing could be further from the truth. This kit is the one to get!

This kit comes with high quality tools that are actually worth putting in the tool box when you're finished using them.

After installation I put it next to a family member's stock iPhone screen and couldn't tell the difference.

The packaging is protective and well thought out.

Instructions are clear and easy to follow.

The iCrack product is excellent. I liked the tool kit, and especially the very helpful online video of the repair. I had no significant problems doing the repair, and it worked the first time! I also appreciate their including a "bumper" style case for the phone so this won't happen again! But, I must say, that putting a new screen in an iPhone 4 is an arduous task - and I consider myself to be an above-average "handyman". That isn't iCracked's fault, they've done everything they could to make it easy, the difficulties are due to the iPhone's design itself. To replace the screen, you basically completely disemble the iPhone, which involves lots and lots of small parts. Before you decide to do this, I recommend that you go to iCracked's web site and watch the video of how it is done. Then, if you still want to do it yourself, by all means buy this kit from iCracked.

My son dropped his phone and cracked the screen. With nothing to lose I decided to try and repair it. I've replaced screens on two iPod touches and a LG Xenon before so I have some experience with this type of repair but I think I could have done this without prior experience. The kit along with the iCracked youtube video instruction made it relatively easy. Take your time and eliminate any distractions and you'll be fine.

This kit comes with very high quality tools and instructions that will come in handy for future repairs I'm sure because I have at least 5 apple devices in my house.

While this repair requires removing almost every component inside the iphone, the flowchart and system for keeping up with the screws allows you to move step by step with confidence. This was much more involved than the iPod touch screens I've replaced but it is not necessarily more difficult. It took about an hour moving slowly and being methodical.

While the instructions are good, I would not attempt this repair without the youtube video to guide me along. The iCracked video is very clear and points out potential trouble spots. I am very satisfied with the kit and the result.
