I searched high and low for a simple grey coverlet to use in my newly renovated master bedroom and this one seemed to be an answer to my prayers. I first found it in a local department store, but they didn't have the size I needed. Amazon to the rescue!

I have been using the coverlet for about 2 weeks now and this is what I have found:

PROS:

- Both the color and the pattern are simple neutrals that won't clash with anything in your decor
- The fabric is extremely soft
- The coverlet is lightweight and a dream to sleep under, even on a warm Georgia night.

CONS:

- I ordered a king size coverlet for my queen-sized bed. Our mattress is a pillow-top and is about 22 inches deep and our box springs are a couple of inches deeper than standard - this combination makes standard queen-sized items too small. The king-sized coverlet reaches almost to the floor on both sides of the bed, but the bottom barely covers the mattress; the box springs are completely exposed, meaning that I will need to purchase a bed skirt.
- If you have pets - especially cats - I recommend that you run, not walk, to another option. We are a multi-cat household and of course, they get on the bed. In the short amount of time that I have been using this coverlet, it has developed a ridiculous number of pulls and snags from the cat's claws getting caught in the fabric - and yes, I trim their nails. So, now I am stuck with a coverlet that looks like it is two years old instead of two weeks.

This coverlet is a little pricey, but I enjoy it's softness and durability, as I lay on top of it very frequently. It is thin enough to not have to remove when going to bed, and doesn't smother you. I guess if there is a down side, it is the cleaning-dry cleaning recommended, but I use large size laundromat washers. Though it says full/queen, I find it almost too large for my queen size bed. All in all, I am very happy with this purchase.

This item is very true to color for the web picture and very soft. I have other matelasse coverlets and they are much thicker, like three pieces of canvas layered together. This one is very thin, like a standard flannel or T-shirt. I wanted one for winter so it won't work for me. If you are looking for a lighter weight coverlet, definitely order it. An added bonus is that it is gently washable.

Looks great and appears to be pretty solid quality. HOWEVER if you're wanting for it to resemble the pic in size compared to the bed, buy a size up. I bought a king for my low profile king bed and it doesn't come close to the floor. When I say low profile bed, it's a designed low profile bed frame and I don't even have a box spring.

For the record, you need to know the difference between a coverlet and a quilt… This is a coverlet (i.e., the back is "unfinished") That's not the reason I gave it 3 stars though… on my platform bed it just covered the pillow top mattress, so if you have a box spring under a king bed it will be almost completely showing. Also, in my opinion the color on the screen is a nice dark grey/silver. What I got was more of a dark grey almost brown hue… not what I was going for! Gotta love Amazon's returns though! It's already back out on the porch waiting for pick up! No problem! 3 stars for the coverlet, 5 stars for Amazon :)

I have a thick, pillow top mattress, and coverlets I've tried in the past end up having very little fabric to fall on the sides and end, but this one is a great, light weight for warmer climates, washes well and actually covers the box spring and part of the rails on the bed. Like it a lot!

I love the look and feel of this coverlet. I have a queen bed and originally ordered the queen coverlet which turned out to be WAY too small. I returned it and ordered the king coverlet, which sufficiently covers my queen mattress (which is probably taller than average with a pillow top) and standard box spring.
