I love this cute little set! Once my daughter figured out how to put all the little decorations in the different spots she really got into moving things around, tidying up, and then tricking out her ponies. Her favorite spot is the little "secret" compartment at the top. I appreciate that the mirrors in the center "dressing table" are real. They're not just some sticker. The set does need to be assembled but it was really easy. Also the set pulls out and is really large and easy to play with, but then it's really simple to push back together and takes up no space at all. A really fun toy! I'm going to buy one for my niece next.

This play set is well designed and pretty to look at. I like the fact that it folds down to a compact size but it does not lock together so moving it is a bit tricky. The small item storage area at the top of the center section opens too easily and the tiny accessories can spill out. A drawer would have been a better idea.

For Christmas my horse crazy, 10 year old, daughter received three ponies, the carousel, and some accessory packages. We expected to be able to display and store a good about of accessories in/on the carousel. We quickly discovered this can not be done. Each accessory item has it's own sized peg so each item has only one area on the carousel it will fit into. The carousel only has space for 4 manes, 4 tails, 6 skirts, 6 saddles, 6 saddlets, 3 brushes, and 17 head pieces. Yes, 17 head pieces! Please note that the only way you can get a head piece is by purchasing a pony. So, you would have to buy 17 ponies to fill in the top of the carousel with head pieces. In my opinion, this is a mistake by the makers. From my daughter's point of view, it is a hinderance in play as the head pieces that came with the ponies do not match the accessory packages she received. In addition, each pony comes with and extra mane, tail, and brush. As mentioned above, you'll quickly run out of space on the carousel for everything except head pieces. The carousel itself is made of plastic (so are the horses)and they have a cheep/fragile look to them, but I think they are more durable than than they look. My daughter was able to assemble the carousel all by herself without any problems - she read the directions and looked at the picture on the box. She loves the hidden compartment, the real mirrors, and how it expands for playtime and snaps together so compactly to be carried away afterwards (easier to do on a hard flat surface like a table). We figured as her collection grew she would have to keep extra accessories in a separate container. I certainly didn't think we'd need an extra container right away. And, since I am good at crafts, I will be figuring out how to make our own head pieces. In summary: Buy the carousel only if it will inhance imaginitive play, not as a storage/display unit.

My 8 year old granddaughter has 3 Pony Royale ponies and I thought this might be a good way to keep the various accessories, manes and tails organized, It was not very expensive so perhaps my expectations were too high, but the plastic is very flimsy and I expect it will last a week or two before it ends up in the trash.

My daughter got this for Christmas with 3 of the ponies. The carousel itself was cheap plastic, and the directions weren't clear on how to close it. It only came with two skirts for the ponies. Save your money and buy two other ponies instead, unless you don't mind or you want the exclusive skirts.
