My five-year-old son was SO excited to get a slinky dog toy for Christmas this year. However, within the first week of use, the spring snapped and broke near the middle of Slinky's body. It seems to be made of some thicker plastic, not metal, which is a great safety feature in my mind, however, with it broken, the part at the break is very pointy and sharp and has poked through the fabric that covers the spring - dangerous (although the fabric cover over the spring was originally was a great feature in my mind). Anyway, Slinky is dead. And my five-year-old is disappointed.

My son waned the "whole" family of toy story... Including slinky... I was skeptical because my son was turning 4 and all I could think about was a twisted disaster. This toy is literally sleepable with. Of all the slinkys I've seen, this is the BEST!

My daughter absolutely loves this thing. I like it, because the inside is plastic, rather than metal - and covered in material - so less chance of injury there.

Warning though - don't let your husband try to untangle it or "try to fix it" if it gets twisted. It made it more than a year with my daughter - a toddler who drags it all over the place, cars, and everywhere else. The hubs has it for about 17 seconds, and he snaps the poor dog's back.

She still loves him - he is just less dextrous than he once was.

I purchased this for my 5 year old daughter and she hasn't let go of it since she opened it! It really is so soft and cuddly...she sleeps with it every night. She also loves "posing" Slinky to stand or sit and watch her while she's coloring, reading, playing, etc. Super cute and will probably have to order one for our younger daughter, too!

I got this Slinky Dog for Christmas and I really like him! He is soft, and very cute, and I love to cuddle with him! However, after only playing with him for a few days, his nose has almost come off, which really upsets me. And I do not play with my toys roughly at all, usually just recreate scenes from the movies. His nose is pretty much hanging by a thread, so I'll have to sew it up, but I just with that it was made with better care and quality. Other than that, I absolutely adore him, and really recommend him! :)

Like many toddlers, our son is a HUGE Toy story fan. Adding Slinky dog to the collection was a fun way to get him to calm down with a soft lovey (much harder with a noisy Buzz Lightyear that shoots lasers). Maybe it's because Slinky looks a little like our dog, but my son just love this and it's definitely made well so I'm hopeful it will hold up.

There is a string right through the middle that is supposed to hold the slinky from stretching too far. It broke the first day. I was able to repair it, but it was a pain. That said, this one is MUCH more durable than the regular slinky dog that tangles easily.

Great Toy! I could not decide if I should get the metal or this cloth Slinky Dog... but I am soooo glad I went with this one. My son is 4 and a super fan of the Toy Story movies. He has every plush, and if you need something that won't pinch little fingers, this is the toy. ONLY think I would warn, it will break if you pull too hard, it will take a bit, but this is not meant to be a slinky, its really a plush. Enjoy!
