I had received a Gloworm for my son three years ago and he loved it, so I wanted to get one for my daughter, too. This Gloworm is different from my son's. I didn't realize that the "Playskool Favorites Lullaby Gloworm" (which is what I bought) is different from the "Playskool Lullaby Gloworm" (which is what my son has). For one thing, it plays the music noticeably louder, which is disappointing because my intention was for her to use it to soothe herself to sleep. Second, the light up face doesn't stay on for as long a time as my son's Gloworm does, nor does the music play for as long. I'm not sure why they have the two different versions of Gloworm, but I personally prefer the "Playskool Lullaby Gloworm".

Got the blue version of this for Christmas, baby is 12 weeks and for the first time I was able to lay him in the RockNPlay with the music going and light on and he drifted off to sleep by himself! Ignore the bad reviews!! There is a mode setting on the back which allows you to choose between three settings - the demo (which is what you hear in the store - short version), a light & music mode which stays on longer, or a light only mode. It plays 6 tunes (all the songs I already sing to him so now I can sing to music) and I think this is turning into one of my favorite baby items!

The gloworm could really use a volume control. I find it a bit loud. My daughter doesn't fall asleep until it's finished with the songs. Turning it on isn't the easiest. To turn it on she has to press up by the neck area and has to hit it dead on which is frustrating for her.

Our daughter LOVES this toy - sleeps with it every night. It plays calming music, it's easy for her to turn on, and the face glows - and babies love to see faces (as opposed to a similar toy where the stomach lights up). We hear her turn it on at night if she wakes up and it helps her get herself back to sleep.

It's a little tricky to change the batteries (but I suppose this is a good thing!) and I wish the batteries lasted longer, but that could be because my daughter uses it so much.

I usually prefer to give a fuller review on most of the products I review than I am going to give here. The reason for that is I'm one of those people who believe in giving folks a more in depth review so they can maybe make an informed decision before they buy. I'm not a big fan of reviews that are little more than "This is awesome" or "This thing sucks, don't waste your money." In this case I really can't say very much about this toy.

I purchased this for my niece for her first Christmas. My sister lives across the country from me so this had to be mailed out for Christmas. Thus I obviously was not there when my niece received it. While my sister was still expecting her daughter I had seen this in stores and thought it would make a nice gift though I didn't pick it up until I did my Christmas shopping. I do recall a demo version in the store of it just lighting up and playing a tune, which was the big reason for me to want to purchase it for her daughter. And I did take a look at it after it arrived here and was surprised it was as small as it is. Playskool's packaging in stores seems to make it a little larger than it actually is if you haven't seen one out of the package. But I never played with it as I would if it were something I purchased for myself because it was always meant to be a gift.

In this case my five star rating is more based on reports of my niece's reaction to it. From what I heard she was rather excited by this toy. Of course she was only about three months old at Christmas so wrapping paper was a big excitement for her. But of the presents sent out this one and one I'd sent for someone else apparently got her the most excited. For me that is all that matters in this case. She may not remember her first Christmas, but hopefully she'll have this for a few years and will have fond memories of a toy she received for her first Christmas.

Great price (compared to stores locally) and arrived exactly as described. I bought it for my 2 year old daughter hoping it would help make our bedtime routine and little easier. A little something to entertain her in the crib in hopes to avoid her normal crying fit (she is a huge bedtime fighter!). She's quite entertained by the toy when it's not bedtime. At bedtime she usually hurls it out of her crib and slams into a wall or the floor. Not the toy's fault. My kid hates bedtime. I'm happy to report that this is also a sturdy toy as it still functions wonderfully after all of the abuse it's taken.

My five month old LOVES this thing. I bought this more for nostalgia than anything else. I remembered having a glow worm as a little girl and I wanted my baby to have one too. Thus far she has not been very interested in toys at all, but as soon as I took this out of the box and lit it up for her, she got the biggest smile on her face. She loves to hold it (chew on it) while she sits in her swing and when I change her diaper in the middle of the night she smiles at the glowing face. I love watching her interact with it. The glowing face is a dull yellow glow so its not too bright in the dark. The face is cute and my baby loves to gnaw on the little ears. The whole thing is so soft and squishy. This is the perfect baby for my baby. I am very pleased with this purchase.
