This is a tough item to review. Why? Because on one hand it did protect the phone from the elements, but on the other, the phone was not usable in certain situations and the case actually caused strange phone behavior.

I am a big fan of the Dicapac products. I had great success with the Dicapac WP-i10 Waterproof Case for iPhone 4, 4S and 3G/3GS as you can see in my review of it.

I took the WP-i10 on a cruise when I still had an iPhone 4. There were times when the touchscreen would not work on the iPhone 4 with the WP-i10, but overall, it worked great. We got wonderful pictures that we wouldn't have obtained without the case. We were planning another cruise, and we now had a Samsung Galaxy S3. So we had to get a new case.

This Dicapac WP-c1 fit the bill. Just as I did with the WP-i10 version, I tested the case...

Upon arrival, we carefully opened the packaging, looked the case/pouch over to ensure it was in good shape, and then put it to the test. We placed a paper towel into the pouch, zipped it, folded over the two velcro covers, and then submerged it in our sink. We swished it around, yanked it in circles, and then left it in the sink with something weighing it down for over 2 hours. We then took it out, dried it off well, unfolded the velcro portions, made sure the seams were dry, and opened it up. The paper towel came out as dry as when we put it in.

So we took the case with us, confident that it would protect our phone (which was to be used for pictures while swimming and snorkeling).

I purchased this case for my Samsung Galaxy SIII phone. I used it when I went to Discovery Cove in Orlando (part of Sea World). Since I was looking for a way to take photos and videos underwater this looked like what I needed.

While the phone works while in the case, once you go underwater the touch screen no longer functions rendering the camera useless. The Galaxy SIII doesn't have a hardware button to take photos. I was able to take video which you can see on YouTube under my username kevfla. The video was nice but must be started above water and then go under.

Pros:
Protects from water, sand, dust or whatever else
Phone functions out of water perfectly making calls and such without problems
Floats if you drop your phone in the water

Cons:
A little bulky
Velcro easily can lift up causing possible problems if not careful
Touch screen is useless underwater on some phones (Samsung Galaxy SIII for one)

Overall, I was glad I purchased this but I would have gone a different rout if I knew the touchscreen didn't work underwater....

waterproof protection or bump protection? you can't have both with this stupid case. its so narrow that even the most basic silicone cover will not fit through and the only fit is with a naked phone. there is an air layer between the front screen that provides the case with buoyancy but also makes swipes and presses very difficult out and in water. typing was out of the question, pinch zoom was a feat not often succeeded.
the warranty is also crappy. they pretty much only guarantee the waterproof-ness of the case for the FIRST use and that's it...sure we know the knucklehead that will take a case like this and store it near an outboard motor and wonder why the waterproofing failed but electro welded seams shouldn't fail without some serious stress and dicapac ought to cover crappy construction that fails with normal use...i have older dicapac flex cases like this for my cameras and the quality of the latest products is poor compared.

I bought two of these for our vacation. The phones fit in it tightly. You can not use a phone case with it. I was concerned about what kind of protection my phone would have if I dropped it. I tried calling my husband on my phone when it was in this case. He couldn't hear me at all. I had to take it out of the case. Its not easy to get the phone in and out of the case due to the snug fit. You can take photos with the case on without a problem. This overall was a disappointment.

We did however go snorkeling and needed someway to keep our keys dry. We use the phone case for that. After an hour in the water our keys came out dry.

This thing is amazing! I got it on sale from Amazon Warehouse deals and I LOVE IT. I can't say that enough! I brag to all my friends. When you put your phone into it, it snaps shut nicely (zip lock style) and then folds tightly along pre cut lines so it is completely water tight!

You can close it up without your phone and squeeze the hell out of it, it's not gonna leak air, so it's not gonna leak water in either.

Once inside it works nicely. I have an HTC one, its one of the larger smartphones right now and it slides nicely, just a little snug but that is how I want it. All your touchscreen features work nice. You'll want a small bubble between the plastic and the screen so you won't have accidental presses when you submerge your phone, if the plastic touches the screen while in the water, it will press whatever it touches, as if a finger presses it. Strange but I just make sure it has a little pocket of air when I seal it and it works fine!

I watch videos, play games, take phone calls, listen to music...all while I am butt naked in the tub! Can't beat it!
