OKI MB471w is a great Mono MFP. The fact that it is wireless made it that much more attractive.
I like the Duplex feature, as I am doing alot of 2 sided scanning, copying and printing... very easy to use.
Unlike other users, I found the set up easy. I like the fact that it came with a great CD that has the User Guide on it, and they didn't waste paper printing it.
On the areas where I needed additional info, I was able to find it easily on the CD, and didn't have to thumb through a book.
Storing my email addresses was easy, so I can scan to email which is saving a ton of time.

I've used the Lite version of the Nuance PaperPort and OmniPage Software that came with this unit. Easy to set up, and scanning, using the Remote PC option has been an easy way of handling all my receipts. Color scanning to my desktop is perfect for photos and other documents I need.
Great Print and copy quality, and very fast. I purchased this for more business uses, and love the Scan to email and Scan to Fax features. For the occasional Analog fax I do, it has that feature as well.

As for the customer service, I had a positive experience with that as well. I followed the menu prompts, and chose to hold to speak to their live technicial support. very nice, professional, and eager to make sure I was able to use all the various functions.

My questions pertained to a new ipad mini that I couldn't connect. after getting on the phone, i was able to set it up perfectly, and am able to print.
I'll definitely recommend this to people I know. Did I mention that I really like this MFP ? Best investment I've made in my office this year.

I am not a computer person but this printer was easy to set up and get the wireless working with all the computers in the house. Considering my computer knowledge is shorter than this review this is really saying something.

I did a lot of research before buying this printer and if you need a decent printer but not particularly color, this is the most cost effective printer I could find. I didn't research color options because I really do not need color printing often enough to keep the color ink from drying out. Thanks to printing shops, that option is actually cheaper for me than not using a bunch of color ink...

On paper this printer looks great however it takes a computer degree from MIT to configure it to work on your pc. It took me days to get the thing to actually print (multiple driver downloads, cursing etc). I finally got the printing to work but none of the scan software worked and OKI told me the scan feature doesnt work with windows 7. I bought it in March and it printed until June when it just stopped. OKI told me it was not in warranty and i had to have a dealer service it. I will never buy another OKI product and urge you to do the same.

pros:
-seems to be high quality construction. you can tell it's a machine that would last.
-tech support is 24/7. they are friendly, patient, and knowledgeable.

cons:
-no owner's manual. have to download it online. spent some time trying to figure out how to set up the fax receive modes.
-scanner didn't work. downloaded new drivers and spent a couple hours with tech support. still didn't work. i have windows vista on a 2 yr old computer.
-wireless function didn't work. spent at least 4 hours with tech support. still didn't work. he said that my router is the problem and that i should call Cisco to reconfigure the settings. i have a LinkSys wireless G router. i thought that was pretty standard?
-printer software buggy. was changing some settings with tech support when all of a sudden 2 menu items literally disappeared! had to do a factory reset on the printer to get the menu items back. crazy!

i bought this printer because i was tired of paying for HP ink and buying a new HP printer every 2 years and dealing with their tech support (or lack thereof). i may have gotten the durability and cost efficiency i was looking for. but this printer has a long way to go in terms of user friendliness, compatibility, etc. needs a lot more beta testing. for me the machine was no more than a copier and a fax machine, since the scanner and wireless did not work.

Good and solid networked office printer, cheaper to run than some others. But the cartridges are hard to find, and it takes a fair amount of expertise to set it up on the network. I wouldn't suggest it for casual home use by a person not skilled in networking. For an office with an IT person, it'd be great.

No problems so far. Printer puts out good quality prints and copies, and the scanner is quick with very good quality. Takes some time for spooling the first page of a print out, but overall print speed is fine. Over 2000 pages, and no problem so far. Have also used the MP Tray, for envelopes and legal, no big problems.

flatbed scanner is a bit wobbly in the image sometimes. The duplex scanner does not have one button operation or blank page detection. this means the user has to decide if they need duplex, and no mixed duplex and non duplex content!

Seems like a capable unit, but directions and interface leave a lot to be desired. Overly complicated and difficult to get to function. This is not something that you plug and play, it will take hours of set up and the directions are worthless. Oki support was patient and helpful but they were unable to solve any of the problems I had. I basically had to fiddle around with it until I was able to get it to work. Scanner was a nightmare to get to function properly, and you cannot simply scan from PC. Also takes 5 seconds for the printer to spool, but after that seems to print relatively quickly.

Comparing it to a Samsung 4195fw printer I bought my father it is very cumbersome and difficult to operate. It does seem like something that would last though, and the toner for it is cheap compared to what the comparable toner that is in the Samsung printer. If the set up for faxing is as difficult as the scanner was this is not something that is worth the trouble.
