After about a month the support arms broke at the pivot point. The arms are made of a very light material and there isn't much left of the arm material after the hole is drilled for the pivot rivot. I purchased another stand from a music store that cost twice as much. The stand is of much heavier construction. I guess you get what you pay for.

****UPDATE**** I had initially given this foot stool 5 stars. Six days outside of the return policy, it broke and is not able to be fixed. The legs are very thin. Picture ripping a piece of notebook paper out of a 3 ring binder. The holes are ripped open where they were once around the ring, right? Well that's exactly how the legs look now, at the point where the pins are that allow the legs to pivot open and closed. This happened after very light use.

My son is taking guitar classes and hinted around to wanting a foot stool. I ordered this to surprise him and he loved it. It seems well built and sturdy and it folds flat enough that he can stick it in his back pack when he's heading out to school. We are very pleased with this item.

For under 10 bucks, it can't be beat.
I have a horrible habit of slightly crossing my legs while I play guitar sitting down - because I need the extra elevation to get the guitar at the proper height for my strumming hand. I don't know about you, but when I play, I tend to play for a while - over an hour or two. An hour of being in such a position will cause your circulation to slow to your crossed leg from the pressure. This cures that.

It doesn't seem that a foot rest like this would make a big difference, but it does. When I use this "stage rocker", my guitar doesn't slip around on my lap. I don't have to keep readjusting the position of my guitar. My wife asked me why I didn't just use a foot stool, and I showed her how the "stage rocker" folds down, so I can easily fit it into my guitar case.

Had not used a foot rest before, since I don't play classical. But got this to help keep guitar (Strat) from slipping even when I wear a strap (I tend to curl into the guitar a lot). This foot rest keeps me sitting straight and helps keep the guitar in good position. Recommended.

I bought this as an extra for my kids to practice guitar with while they are at their grandparents house. It is ok for the price, but the top rubber piece feels like it is about to pop out at some point. If it does I will just glue it back on.

I purchased this foot rest primarily for a festival in which I needed something to prop my foot up on while playing electric bass. This foot rest was my answered prayers - the lowest setting fits right where I needed it to go, and made playing a whole lot easier. It's a good quality item - made of all metal, with exception of the rubber ends and top - that can take a bit of a beating. In person, it looks professional enough that it can be used playing out live. Although I'm sure that a fifty dollar foot rest would probably be more aesthetically pleasing, this would be excellent for anyone just wanting to start messing around with a foot rest.

This is the second one of these I have bought, not because it broke, but there is always someone wanting the first I bought.. They seems to last and they don't cost much at all. My husband uses his every day. He says it really helps with posture and such, makes playing a lot more comfortable.
