Normally I would never think to write a review for tampons -- I mean, come on, they're tampons. They're pretty much all the same; pretty hard to screw up, right? These, though, are truly awful. I'm hoping I just got a bad batch, but I won't be trying them again to find out. First off, the applicator pinches. It's got two tiny little flat surfaces that come together when you depress the plunger, and if you've got it angled just wrong, chomp. That alone was enough to put me off these, but they had another fun surprise: the string. Again, you'd think that's pretty hard to screw up. But between the smooth synthetic texture of the string and the fact that there's no knot at the end, it's almost impossible to get ahold of. Since being a grip is kind of the string's primary purpose, I'd say that's pretty poor design.

In sum: it's a pain in the **** on the way in, and a pain in the neck to take out. Suffice to say I'll be tossing the rest of my box.

where else can you get perfect protection AND only $5.09 for a box of 36? i usually only use environmentally friendly products and i must admit that haven't my homework on how degradable these applicators are.... confessing that... they are very comfortable for me... having had multiple surgeries the fact that i can even use tampons is awesome. but the value & ease of this particular product make this a sure thing for me!

With a coupon and S&S the price can't be beat. Tampax is a trusted product and holds up to that, but be warned the wrappers on these tampons come open easily. I have found that if I don't want loose tampons floating in my purse I need to use these ones at home.

Yes the applicator does pinch but that's not even the worst of it. I feel like these tampons are so big that they tear up my insides while at the same time offering the worst protection. I purchased twice to make sure I wasn't imagining it and because they were so inexpensive. I used to think you didn't need the brand name tampons since they were going in the trash anyway. Definitely learned my lesson, you get what you pay for.
