great for making custom base to handset cables. note, these are smaller than standard RJ11 phone clips... this is more to replace the end on your handset cord (usually the coiled/curly cable). In my situation I used these to extend microphones on our office conference star-phone.

These connectors are designed for those little phone cables that connect your phone to the handset that you talk into. For this purpose, they work well.

If you need a phone cable to connect to the wall, you need RJ-11. If you want computer network cable connectors, you need RJ-45. These are ONLY for phone handsets.
