I just received mine and I am testing it as I write this review.

Pros:
Seems to be of higher quality. Controller is wired to unit through phone style wiring (low voltage). Controller pad is of higher quality than another model I owned (SBM-300H). The unit has an extra cloth overlay to reduce contact pressure to sensitive people. This cloth can be thrown over behind the chair for maximal contact to back if you wish. This cushion has HEAT, a must feature for me.

Cons:
Seems to be weaker and slower. Four rollers instead of two actually is a devolution of product improvement in my opinion because it tend to reduce the amont of contact pressure on certain spots in the back. Two rollers I think is the right formula like model SBM-300H, which is not available on the market anymore. The options on controller pad are limited. It has kneading only no rolling up or down. The spot button option has different programming style. It tends to go up for 3 seconds and down for 3 seconds in reverse directions mode. I don't like that. I like it better on the older model I mentioned earlier. The older model just stays over the spot you choose and stays on it for as long as you want in one direction and not up and down like this model does.

I will be updating this review as I test it more.

PS:
This model is a SHIATSU messager, not a swedish messager as described in Amazon marketplace. The box says that.
Each roller has 3 nodes, a total of 12 contact nodes.
The unit seems to be doing its job even though it seems to be slow.
The rollers go clockwise coming down, and counter clockwise going up.

January 18
today one of the nodes started to make annoying squealing noise. I am taking one star down.

This massager is a difference maker for me. I have struggled with back tightness for months and months, addressed some of the problems with a chiropractor, but the tightness in my back persisted. I thought of going to a massage therapist, then thought of this option. After researching, I believed this one was the best value, and it certainly has pleased me and more. I love the speed of the rotating massage rollers. I had used my mom's shiatsu messager before, and the rollers went way too fast and I could hardly get up out of the chair when it was done. This one is perfect. I also love the heating option, as it heats enough but not too much. It also seems to be very quality built.

I just couldn't be happier.

Picked this one because it said SWEDISH massage, not as rough as Shiatsu. It seems pretty much the same to me. You can't leave this on your chair because the back is all wood to support the rollers and the pressure it puts on you back. It hurts on my upper back (I'm guessing that's because of knots, so maybe it's good to give them a GENTLE workout; I have to move around or move forward to make it less painful). Lower back feels great. I like the SPOT feature, where you can keep the rollers in one place for a while. Heat is good, too. Overall, I'm not sure it's worth the price, and I'm disappointed that they call it Swedish massage. Just my opinion on that one.

I would have given this 4 stars, but can only give it 2.

Pros: Good, rugged construction. Pretty good massage. Hurt at first but not after a couple uses, but this is what I wanted -- something that was going to dig in a bit.

Cons: Rollers don't go low enough so you can't get into the upper glutes or even the periformis/low back. Upper back is okay but the rollers hit almost all shoulder blades not much muscle. Doesn't go high enough to hit shoulders/base of neck.

But the real problem is that after two months, it QUIT WORKING. Actually, I should say, it quit working and then it worked again and then it quit working and you never know when it's going to work again. Seems to be a short in the power cord where it connects to the massager. I contacted Homedics through their website customer service form a week ago but never heard from them! This product has a two year warranty but they make it very difficult to actually have that warranty honored!

Disappointed. Bought this to replace Homedics massager that I had and used so much I wore it out. I couldn't find the same model, so I thought I would try this. It only goes up and down....doesn't seem to go up as high as my last one did. Also you can not adjust the width.

I expected this to have come with the rolling feature as well as the kneading one. It was not clear in the description of the product that that feature was not present. That is why I gave it 4 stars and not 5. Otherwise I like the product and enjoy the message it gives. I would have liked some type of carrying case to store it in other than the box

It is different from the previous one I have, however, it appears to do what I want to do and what I like about this one, is that you can spot massage an given area within a range, the others I have bought, which have been three, do not give you a specific range, but go up to a certain point and come down, this one is more confined to a very short area.

I wish the devices would last longer, but considering the fact that I use them almost every day, the others have had the cloth or material that covers them come apart or the mechanism starts to malfunction.

This last one I have had for little over two years now, it still works, but there appears to be some kind of short in the control mechanism. As long as I can get it to work, I will not be using this one until the other one stops and then I will try and figure out how to open the control handle to see where the short is at.
