I love this massager! I don't usually like these kind of massagers because after a while, they start to hurt and/or get annoying, but this one actually felt good. The rotating shiatsu feels like someone's hands are really massaging you! It does not feel like the annoying vibrating pain people feel with other massagers. When it is on heated, it does not overheat causing you to feel like it's too hot. It's just enough warmth to feel at ease. Would recommend. It's very relaxing and soothing

The Homedics neck massager works well. The material that covers the moving (fingers) can be a little abrasive on your skin. Also the heat can get a little too hot. So I just pull up my shirt collar a bit or use a soft cloth to combat these minor issues and keep it on longer.

if you are plagued by neck problems, or even occassional stiff necks etc, give yourself the greatest gift ever! i had developed a real big problem in my neck, i couldnt sleep at night because anyway i layed, my neck hurt. it hurt no matter how i sat or layed down. i think it came from being at a computer that i wasn't comfotable with while i was waiting to replace my regular computer and return to my cumfy nest at my own computer. anyway, i bought this knowing the shiatsu works because i have thier back one also. wow in just a mater of a few days the neck is almost totally free of problems. and no i don't work for any companies that would profite from my feeback, lol. i'm just thrilled with homedics products for muscular pains

man this thing is the bomb. my neck was so tight and i didn't even know it. you are probably thinking this might "feel good" but I'm telling you that you need it! your neck is so tight! this thing digs into your neck but it doesn't hurt, it feels like a massage. then you can put on the vibration and heat, and you have to be careful not to just fall asleep. it is truly great, and if you have never owned any neck massager before, you should just stop reading this and order this right now, trust me.

The heaters take several minutes to heat up. As others have said, they do get a little too hot. I find myself toggling the heat on/off with the button to manage it. The massage tips light up red when the heater is on, but that is not visible when wearing the massager. I constantly find myself wishing for a status LED down near the straps of the massager.

The neck straps are necessary for the massager to stay in place. I find myself holding both straps in my right hand, while using my left hand to work the controls. If I don't hold the straps, the massager flips off and falls down my back.

The cloth cover looks like it has zippers, so it can be removed for cleaning, but these have been sewn shut. :(

The massage action is an odd rotating angled-stick motion that is rather uncomfortable and causes occasional pinching. I was hoping for three round knobs on a disk that would spin. The spacing of the massage heads is also odd and can't be adjusted, so it doesn't fit my head right. The vibrate mode is WONDERFUL.

The massage/vibrate modes are quite loud, as it is right by the ears. I have to turn the TV up, especially when using the massage mode. This is too loud to use at my office. :(

Speaking of modes, this thing has: vibrate only, massage only, vibrate+massage.

Buy this for the heat and vibrate functions, not for the shiatsu(massage). I would try another brand if I could find a comparable model.

Homedics Shiatsu Neck Massager with Heat Model # NMS-250-2, looks very much like this model but has no Vibration option:
Product mentioned above burned my boyfriends skin so severely on his neck that it is actually blistered. This was the second one I purchased, the first one I returned because it stopped working after only a few minutes. wish i had not gone back for the second one.
The heat gets so incredibly hot so fast that you could fry an egg on it or as in my boyfriends case, his neck.
