The adapter cable arrived without the 5 pin to 11 pin converter as pictured in the Amazon add. This cable did not work with my Samsung Galaxy note ll. It apparently requires the Samsung part EPL-FU1OBE 5 pin to 11 pin converter. I thought that I was purchasing both parts as pictured in the entry on the Amazon page. I have now ordered the converter however it shows to be out of stock. What a pain!!!!

The page is somewhat miss leading as EIA2BE is the old 5-pin universal with an 11-pin adapter (FU10BE; ain't that a cool name!?). If you want a pure 11-pin model, that's a 3FHUBE (Maybe this: ADAPTER HDMI EPL 3FHU FOR SAMSUNG GALAXY S3 - or SAMSUNG GALAXY SIII HDTV ADAPTER (11 PIN) -).

In use with my white T-Mobile 16GB model, it works fine if used with an HDTV but it won't work with the cheap HDMI->DVI adapters I've got and any monitors I've tried. You may need to play with your TV/monitor settings to prevent overscan (e.g. missing edges) or letter boxing.

I have not tried MHL+USB OTG at the same time, for the following reasons:

0/ You'd probably need the pure 11-pin model.
1/ Users at XDA Developers show it generally doesn't work at the same time (at this time anyway). There's a big thread or three, complete with pin outs and stuff, go knock yourself out.
2/ You'd need something to POWER the connection sufficiently and I don't have a powered hub to test with.
3/ Bluetooth accessories are more convenient for travel.

Does not work with the Samsung Galaxy S3. Does not bring the 5 - 11 pin adapter like it is pictured. This is probably the old MHL adapter that works with the S2 and other phones only. Do not buy! I had to return, waste my time and money on this. Buy the official one with the item number EPL-3FHUBEG.

It worked great for a month or so, then it just stopped. My note 2, no longer recognizes when the mhl adapter is attached. It does recognize that it is charging but no picture or sound or chime when I plug it in. I have many similar reviews. It is of poor quality.

Customer shows the MHL adapter with OEM packaging and states it works by just plugging in this adapter into a Samsung Galaxy S 3 or Samsung Galaxy Note 2. When the product arrived it had no OEM packaging and didn't work. After contacting Samsung, you still need to buy a Samsung OEM MHL Galaxy S 3/Note 2 adapter tip to attach to this MHL adapter to make it work. After buying this tip from Samsung and connecting it to this adapter it finally works. Very misleading and don't buy from this seller.

This cable does work with the galaxy s3 if you use the included adapter. This adapter cannot be used without taking off my otter box, which is kind of a pain, but at least it works! I think if you're just using it for the galaxy s3 and you dont want to use the adapter you might be better off with the "epl-3fhubegstd" cable, but I'm not completely sure.

Bought this for my samsung galaxy s3 and it did not work at all.So don't waste your time on this item,retured it(still waitng. for refund) and bought an original samsung mhl adapter.that one works great!

Hi everyone. This is my first review, even though I've purchased hundreds of items.

I purchased this adapter for the Galaxy Note 2. It worked when I plugged it in, but every time I received a text message, the audio and video would completely cut out for a few seconds... Very annoying when trying to play Dr. Mario on the NES eumatlor with two PS3 controllers!

I got lucky because I didn't do anything until the 29th day and was able to ship it back and get a refund.

I decided to order a legit model from Samsung. And it worked perfectly! The audio cuts out when I get a message, but not when I turn the phone on vibrate.

Maybe I purchased a defective one... Or maybe it was a knockoff... I'm not sure. I did notice that the official Samsung had a nice sticker on the box saying it was real, and everything was printed directly on the box... The amazon one had a little S3 sticker on it.

Pro tip: register your Samsung phone on their website to get a 50% coupon... The official adapter ended up costing me the same as it did on Amazon!
