Our son is SPD with some attention deficit and hyperactivity - in other words, just a normal boy but with a little more challenge than usual. After the novelty of these wore off these have been very comforting for him. He knows why they're there so they are a reminder that he needs to learn to control his emotions and actions. He also sees them as a confirmation he is successful.

At first, of course, they were a major distraction. We had to take them away - had to so he could focus on homework, but not as a punishment.

Now they're just there, where his hands are, to chew or twist as he wants. It brings the attention back to his hands, the pencil and the paper.

I love these for my students something silent they can mess with while thinking on their work. Before it sounds too much like a toy in class- please see that all kids and even adults play or fidget at times and to have something that can `t do much and is quit is wonderful

I LOVE these pencil toppers! I got them for my son who has ADHD so that he could have something to fidget with in class. I had tried other pencil toppers (squeeze balls, the fuzzy kind) and none of them worked because he just popped them off and tossed them around. These are amazing. He can screw the bolts up & down the pencil without it coming off. The first few days he had them the other kids in class would tattle that he had a toy but the teacher was on board in advance. These are definitely the best fidget toppers I've every tried!

If you are a classroom teacher these fidget pencils are worth checking out. I purchase these pencils for a teacher friend of mine who has a student with ADHD. These fidget pencils allow students to have something in their hands that they can play with without causing a distraction or making any noise.

These pencils have nuts bolts and screws attached to them that the student can twist around quietly while staying engaged with what is going on in the classroom. They can also be passed out as fun incentives for students who are showing positive behavior.

A couple downfalls are that students may easily lose the fidgets or forget to use the tool altogether.The teacher will need to set up a plan for how and when the students can use these fidget pencils along with other strategies to keep the fidget pencils productive.

The fidget pieces can be taken off and attached to other pencils if needed. The pieces are also interchangeable with each other. They are made of a strong plastic and are very durable. The price for this set of 6 is the best price deal that I have found for the quality of the product.

I would highly recommend that any teacher purchase a set for their classroom.

my son has add and is an auditory learner so he can't watch the teacher talk and learn anything. He was drawing or chewing to stay focused. This makes his teachers happier since they can tell he's paying attention (no drawing) and helps him socially (no chewing or picking).

I bought these for my son in hopes to curb his fidgeting. It's great that they come with pencils but it didn't work for my son. They can come appart so of you have a kids that while disassemble just about anything, I suggest either gluing these or just opt for something else. I ended up having to take these away because he would take it apart and put the little bolt that screws on in his mouth. =/

These are cool- my ADHD son was excited about them. In the end though- part of being ADHD is that my son loses everything and is extremely disorganized. He lost them and that was the end of it. They were too expensive to keep buying.

I work as a school counselor in a jr high. I bought these to try out with my kids who are either unmedicated/undiagnosed ADHD or are just super ADD/ADHD and need all the support they can get. My kids loved them! I started having teachers send kids to me for the "magic pencils". The teachers reported it kept the kids from tapping on the desk or doing other disturbing and distracting behaviors. If my kids forget theirs or lose it, they come see me to borrow one for the day. I think they are well worth their money.
