I bought this heater because I wanted three selectable heat settings so I could adjust the temperature of the air coming from the unit. Most heaters tend to produce a small amount of very hot air (especially ceramic heaters). The problem with this is that contributes to air stratification--the heat rises quickly to the top of the room and the floor remains cool. This unit has three heat settings from which to choose, and since it is a standard resistance heater and fan, it produces a (comparatively) large amount of warm air (as compared to a small amount of very hot air).

The package claims that the heat settings are 600, 900, and 1500 watts. (Most heaters are 1500 watts on their highest setting). However, I used a Kill A Watt meter, which registers the exact wattage, and recorded the results.

On fan-only: 10 watts
Low heat: 530 watts
Medium heat: 770 watts
High heat: 1270 watts

As you can tell, it is not quite 1500 watts, but this is totally fine with me--I just want it to gently warm the area around my desk at work, not bake a turkey. Also, an added advantage is that a standard 15 amp electrical outlet can carry a maximum wattage of 1875 watts. Since my computer and monitor must also be plugged into this outlet, and an average computer and monitor are 400 watts together, this will bring me to a total of 1670 watts--enough that I do not have to worry about tripping a circuit breaker.

The unit quiet and is thermostatically controlled; it turns on and off as it reaches the desired temperature. With that said, it does not have a digital thermostat that some of the nicer models have. You will need to guess and test to see if you prefer it set to "warmer" or "cooler" or somewhere in between. For the record, the coolest temperature mine will allow is 65ºF.

I purchased this heater to use at work where it can get very cold. It puts out a soft gently heat, and is fully adjustable. I usally use the medium setting for prolonged use, then turn it down or off when my space has warmed to a bearable temperature. It has worked well for me for the last two years--so well that everyone was borrowing it. I always had to track it down to see who had decided to use it to warm up their space. I recently purchased two additional heaters for co-workers to use. That is in addition to the four Pelonis heaters that other co-workers purchased on their own when they saw how well mine works to take the chill out of the air. It is NOT a room heater, but excells at heating a workspace cubicle, small area, or to just keep your legs warm under your desk. It is fairly quiet, and is heat-adjustablle. None of us have had any problems with this model Pelonis Fan heater. Also, even with four of us each using one of these heaters at the same time, we haven't blown a fuse or circuit (which we did regularly with our old space heaters). Also, no electrical smell with this heater. I would buy again with no hesitation. I hope the company keeps this model the same and doesn't try to "improve" it --it doesn't need inprovement as it works perfectly for what it is designed for.

I've used these heaters for 2 years now. My old one quit working after 1 year so I bought a new one a couple months ago. Well this morning my daughter accidently tipped it over and so she just picked it up and it kept working... then the damn thing caught ON FIRE! The plastic melted, It was literally 3 seconds and the damn thing was in flames! Luckily everyone in my house was awake and this didn't happen while we were asleep or at work! I will not buy another and I will not suggest this product to anyone. Stay away!

I bought this little heater to try and keep my African Violet plant room temperature up "just a little," and it just didn't do enough. This heater would be great to warm a SMALL bathroom, but not a small office. I'm going to try and sell it on craigslist.

Heater works for a small space or office. Heater does not blow strong heat but is enough to combat the chill of an over air conditioned office building. If you are looking for something just for that this is a good purchase. For a larger space this would not be a good fit.

When I first opened the package I wondered how such a small heater could do very much to warm up my bedroom which is about 11x12 and on a northwest corner. It can become quite chilly in the winter months. I place the heater on the floor and set it on medium heat with the fan on high. Within about 30 minutes the chill is gone and the room is comfortable at which time I turn it off before getting under the covers. My cat plops himself down 1 to 2 feet from it and peacefully sleeps until I turn it off at which time he joins me on my bed. As I live in SoCal it rarely gets below 34 degrees at night so I can't say how good it would be for colder climes.

This is a great little heater and fan. I was looking for something to fit under my desk at work that wouldn't also blow fuses (which happens a lot when co-workers use space heaters). This fits the bill. I haven't blow a fuse, it heats up my space quickly, and when it was hot in my office, the bit of cool breeze was nice. I also like that it has settings to go hotter and cooler. I don't know that it would heat a whole room, but for under a desk it is the perfect size and price!
