I will not purchase this in the future.
Every color in the set was difficult to use. It is almost as if there is a rubbery coating on them. The blue seemed to work most readily, but still I had to go over every marking many times for it to be just barely visible.
I would not recommend.

I bought this chalk because it was recommended to use tailors chalk for marking instead of just cutting around the pattern or trying to trace it with fading ink. I bought chalk specifically for items that were too dark for the invisible ink. I find this chalk very hard to use. I end up pressing very hard to get any chalk at all on the cloth, but doing so makes the fabric shift. I ended up discontinuing use rather than bothering with this.

Perfect little package to keep chalk handy while preventing breakage. It fits in a drawer of a tackle box (ASIN: B004NY2BBK) because there's no holder to add bulk. To get a better hold on a piece, I added a small piece of masking tape. Almost perfect.

Can't wait to start using these. I've got pencils and chalk dispensers and lots of other marking tools for ordinary fabrics, but I never could duplicate the effectiveness of the crayon shaped chalk markers we used 50 years ago when I worked in a commercial drapery shop. I tried the triangles, but they always make marks too big or crumbled with too much handling. I like that these Singer chalks come in a neat storage box, and only wish there was some sort of plastic sleeve to hold them while working with them. Will have to see what I can come up with.
