This is a really great peanut butter that has a bit of everything. It's a little nutty, a little tropical, and a little decadent! However, the coconut is a bit strong, which makes it AMAZING in baked goods, but I don't particularly care for it by the spoonful as I normally have a problem with doing when I get Wild Friends Nut Butters. But it will depend on how much you love your coconut because my mom (a crazy coconut lover) really enjoys eating this by itself.

But seriously, it's so good in cookies. No, no, it's amaze-balls in cookies. Also, if you cut up a banana and put this nut butter between the slices and then freeze it… and then dip it in chocolate and freeze it again. Yeah, fantastic things happen in your mouth… So, if you're on the fence-- you should get it and bake with it. You won't be sorry!

I love chocolate, peanut butter and coconut but never put it together. This is a perfect combination! I've had this on toast, plain bread, crackers, ice cream and even off a spoon. I couldn't even tell you which I liked more. This is delicious, and I look forward to getting my next jar. Fantastic!

This just sounded so good-- I am a Nutella fan, but I also am a peanut butter fan. The idea of having something that was both was intriguing. Do not expect this to taste like chocolate--the predominate taste and texture is definitely peanut butter, with a back taste of chocolate and even slighter coconut. It is delicious!

I’ve tried two types of Wild Friends peanut butter – Sesame Cranberry (5/5 stars) and Chocolate Coconut (4/5 stars). The Sesame Cranberry is delicious and I’ve gone through 2 jars in the same time as it took me to eat half a jar of the Chocolate Coconut. Not that the Chocolate Coconut is bad by any means, I just prefer something savory on my toast in the morning. If you love Nutella then I think the Chocolate coconut could be for you. The addition of cranberries and sesame really heightens the flavor of peanut butter for me – the cranberries are sweetened just a little so it’s not sweet or too tart. And these since they are considered superfoods I feel that this combination is very healthy. Cranberries are a good source of antioxidants while sesame seeds are an excellent source of minerals like copper, manganese, calcium, and iron.

Peanuts themselves are actually the best plant source of niacin (vitamin B3) and recent studies suggest that niacin is important for prevention of Alzheimer’s. So, as a vegetarian, I’m going to include more peanuts in my diet since I don’t get niacin from meat or fish and almond or cashew butter doesn’t supply it (btw, brown rice is also a good source). All of their peanut butters are good sources of fiber and protein, and also low in salt and reasonable in fat content. As you’d expect, the Chocolate Coconut variety is the highest in saturated fat, but most people now consider the medium chain fats in coconut to be pretty good for you.

For social and environmental impact I think Wild Friends deserve 4/5 gold stars. There are still some things they could do to improve, like using green energy and including more organic ingredients in their peanut butters.Read more ›

I have this in the single serve packets, chocolate coconut flavor, since multiple items are listed on the same page.

There are a couple of things I really like about this product:

(1) The single serve packets mean I can't accidentally (or unconsciously...) take more than I intended to.

(2) The calories in a single serve packet are the same as two tablespoons of the regular peanut butter I buy (190 calories)

(3) It's not too sweet, although you can definitely taste the chocolate and coconut. I've had several other chocolate nut butters this year. When you put them on sandwiches, you feel like you are eating a chocolate sandwich. Which is not really what I want for lunch. This, on the other hand, was great on a sandwich (just this, and nothing else).

You can see the full nutrition facts panel and ingredients list if you zoom in on the product images. This product is vegan, gluten free, non-GMO, and free of refined sugars, if any of those are important to you. Overall, I was a fan and am now curious about some of their other flavors!

Love this stuff! If you're expecting something that tastes like a peanut butter cup, think again. It's not sweet. However if you like peanut butter cups but don't want to eat all the calories that come along with the sugar, you might like this. It's a type of health food really, and works well in my diet. Keeps me away from candy by satisfying my need for chocolate. I eat it by the spoonful and I'm totally addicted. The oil separates from it a bit, but that's to be expected from an all natural style peanut or almond butter. Anything organic with have separation. I buy mine at the store for around six. Look for it in the health food aisle.
