About the Product
  • Complete package includes 1 chair alarm and 1 chair sensor pad. Use this system to hear an alert when someone is attempting to lift from a chair unattended.
  • Place the chair sensor pad on the seat of a firm chair. Alarm will sound when the resident is lifting out of the chair. The alarm beeps when weight is applied, to let the caregiver know the system is working. The alarm will sound continuous when weight is removed from the pad. To silence the alarm, move the switch from on to the off position or reapply weight to the chair sensor pad.
  • Easy on/off switch, adjustable volume, 3 tone option, visual status light, low battery light, protective cover, and adjustable strap for placement.
  • 10" x 15" chair sensor pad made of soft vinyl, reinforced coiled cord, easy to wipe clean and incontinence resistant.
  • Chair alarm requires a 9 volt battery, not included.

This product did not work out for us. We are returning it. We got it for my Mom, who lives in a facility for people with dementia and alzheimers. She recently had two falls trying to get up from her chair and get to her bed. The staff there suggested we get her a chair alarm. After looking over many online, I decided on the Smart Caregiver alarm because it said it had different levels of sound tone. I understood that to mean different levels of loudness, but it was just different VERY LOUD sounds. The staff felt it would be much too disruptive to all the patients in surrounding rooms. I will investigate further to see if Smart Caregiver had what we need or if another company may.

on-off the unit completely 100feet away.

Bought this as my mother-in-law has dementia and has had several falls. Wish the directions had been better as it is very difficult to fit a 9 volt battery into place. It has worked as expected. The problem is that she moves so quickly that she is already up by the time I get to her, however I feel it still has been very helpful. The alarm is annoying to her however I like it as I can hear it from any room in our one floor home.
