These are a great, simple upgrade to give your BMW a fresh look. I have a 2009 X5 E70 and the installation was very easy, although I broke the frame of one of the old lights when trying to pry it out. If you study the new light, you can kind of see where to shove the flathead screwdriver. Also, I had to remove my license plate since it blocked removal of the old light.

The new LEDs are much brighter and whiter than stock and put out a nice, even light. I posted some pictures so you can judge for yourself. The build quality is surprisingly good as it feels fairly substantial and it has a good foam sealing gasket. I haven't gotten any errors at all. These look very OEM and I totally recommend them.

UPDATE (3-5-2013): At night, these are just way too bright, especially for an X5 that sits pretty high. I used some black duct tape to cover up two rows of the LEDs and now it's just right (see the photo I added). I was interested in getting rid of the yellow and a getting a little brighter when buying this kit, not blind drivers behind me.

I got these to put on a 2007 BMW 335i sedan that I had just purchased. The install was literally less than 30 seconds for each side. They fit perfectly and light up very well. I've had them in my car for about a month now and no problems with code malfunctions or blinking or burning out. Again its only been a month so we'll see about durability in a few more months.
I read some of the other reviews and they complain of these lights being too bright. Yes they are bright but thats what I wanted. The dull original bulbs were a milky yellow and these are bright white. In fog, rain or snow these will make you more visible to the inattentive drivers coming up behind you. In my area the majority of drivers love to tailgate and stay 3-4' behind you while texting or talking on the cell. Any little bit that I can do to keep myself more visible to these folks is a plus in my book.
I'll update in a few months to see if they're still functioning.

Must have if you still have the old ugly dim yellow lights. Fit my 328i and it looks so much better..Its gave my rear end a updated look. It is very very bright.. But its better than it being too dim because like this you can put some tape across one or two rows and customize the amount of light that comes out..

The one star rating is for customer service, the product is great when it worked. I bought these Led license plate light, now Led's should last some good amount of hours, I got a year and three months out of one of the two Led's burnt out. I know $35 is not a lot of money but every year it is don't buy from here there are other companies on the net, look around.

The lights themselves look great and have no error, however my 5th set literally just burnt out. They only last about 3-4 months at most then its time to order a new set. Its very disappointing not to mention costly having to constantly replace these. Now my car once again sits in my driveway with a burnt out license plate light unable to drive my car until a new set is ordered so i don't get pulled over again....

Perfect for early model BMW e70 x5 with poor rear camera night vision. Before I installed the lights at night the rear camera would be solid black. After install I can now see fairly well onscreen what's behind me. This is very important for me as I always park in reverse so now I don't need to get out and check.

It's bright but not any brighter than newer cars that have led license plate bulbs. It's bright but it won't blind other drivers behind since it's aimed down

These things look fantastic and have a very good, very slight hint of blue/white. They look amazing on the car. No error codes. I did use electrical tape to block out a row of lights on each side of the plate. They are very bright otherwise.
