be aware that the screw and nut are both plastic. they seemed sturdy enough for regular use, but i wouldn't be jumping around using them. also, the strap button heads are a little bit smaller than actual guitar strap buttons. this could be a problem if you are using them with a heavily worn and stretched strap. They are convenient for people who have lots of guitars, and a strap for each guitar, and want to be able to slap whatever strap is handy on the banjo. taking the strap on and off wasn't easy or practical, but they worked. i had a hard time trusting them at first, but I was walking around the house playing banjo just fine. maybe they'll hold up okay. in hindsight, i should have skipped on the adapter and spent a few more bucks on a legit banjo strap, or built these myself.

I was able to repurpose a very nice hand tooled guitar strap as a banjo strap. I can easily remove the strap from the banjo to store in the case pocket. The banjo fits to tightly in the case to allow the strap to remain on the banjo and these adapters work well. I use them on my open back banjo. I would be less confident about a secure mounting for a heavier resonator banjo. I believe they would work. The buttons may release the strap if the strap has larger or stretched holes through which the buttons attach.
I have not tried it but I would be cautious of potential failure if I used them on my heavy banjo.

I bought a 6-string banjo, or banjitar, or guitjo (depending on who you ask), and I needed to put a strap on it. Of course banjos don't have strap buttons Like guitars, because that would be too easy. I didn't have any old shoelaces or wire, so I ordered these. I probably could have used duct tape. These were sort of a pain in the giblets to install, but now I can hopefully whirl the thing around my head like an 80s rockstar (after I learn to play). They certainly do the job.

Works for me! Reviewers who say the pegs are a little smaller than the ones on most guitars are correct, but they seem perfectly secure to me. Worth noting I'm using a good quality suede leather strap, I could see you having problems with a cheaper strap or one with very worn out peg holes.

Anyway, I was happy to be able to get this for 3 bucks and then re-use a nice guitar strap I had around. Banjo straps are obviously available, but you get a much wider variety of options (usually at better prices) with guitar straps.

What to expect for the price? It does what is advertised. The pieces are fairly cheaply made,

I would definitely not recommend these for a banjo worth anything.

(I bought them for my Fender FB-54, no way did I trust these to hold the 15 lbs of the banjo. Bought a Lakota Leather strap instead, off topic but the strap is fantastic, so comfortable bought 3" one...anyways http://www.lakotaleathers.com/products/banjo/ (have to give props where they are due)

So yeah these do work they were shipped quickly, the quality is not trustworthy, I gave them to my father for his "drinkin' banjo! He loves em...

although the cost might be a bit too high in ratio to how much it cost to make it, it is a unique product and works very well. i bought a nice souldier guitar strap cheap that matched my banjo well, this solved my problem of converting it

I was skeptical. These are almost too simple... a small piece of leather (leatherette?) with a plastic button and screw. But, lo and behold, they work great. Attach these to a couple of tension hooks and you can use any buttonhole type strap for your banjo. Just remember to check them for tightness now and then. They're plastic, they will work themselves loose over time. But banjo players are used to checking and adjusting things periodically, so that shouldn't be a problem.

this conversion kit is not the greatest product you could find or at least for my banjo, it didn't fit well so i had to add some shoe laces so the guitar strap is secure, otherwise the rim of the banjo would apply a little bit of pressure to the strap and you won't feel very safe while playing, i also added some grolsch beer bottle gaskets or washers to feel safe while playing, cause i play irish punk rock with my irish tenor banjo and i need to move around and jump sometimes
