I love my Kyocera ceramic kitchen knife because it is so sharp that it blows my mind. I was hoping these blades would do the same... and they do! They are extremely sharp and the edge has stayed sharper for longer than any steel blade I've ever used. Like all ceramic blades these are NOT for twisting or prying because they could chip or snap. I have not yet chipped or snapped my ceramic blades yet. Of course normal steel blades will also break if you twist them but you should never use a utility knife blade to pry or twist anyway. They are for cutting. These blades are spectacular. I use them in my folding pocket utility knife and I get excited every time I have a chance to use it because they make every cutting job easy. If these blades ever wear out I will certainly buy more!

Either the other reviewers have no idea what a sharp blade feels like, or I got a bad batch. The blades I received work find for things like opening packages and letters... the sorts of things you can do with a butter knife or a letter opener. To be fair, they're not THAT dull. The points are pretty good, actually. But the edge leaves much to be desired.

The blades I received miserably failed every standard cutting test I tried. The edge won't slide through paper, either thick or thin. Just tears it ragged. Thumbnail test was like rubbing a paperclip on my nail. And shaving arm hair? I could barely scrape the skin -- cutting the hair was impossible.

I bought these about 4 months ago and am surprised that I still have the same blade in my main utility knife, and it is still sharp. It seems even now as sharp as the metal ones are when you first open the package. As long as you don't try to pry with it or bend the blade; I think it might break although mine has not.

Use these in my Gerber EAB Lite folding pocket cutter. I've used it for a couple of weeks at the brewery and find it sharp. I've noticed that I chipped the tip of the first blade and it wasn't as effective anymore... flipped it around and got it back to new.

The blades are actually a pretty good conversation piece... almost everyone that sees it asks if it is ceramic, and it looks way cool in the Gerber.

I have to agree with one of the other reviewers that it doesn't seem to cut skin as easily as the metal blades (odd?).

They fit perfectly in all my utility knives. I care it every day in my gerber E.A.B. pick it up if you like Sharp blade at the ready. Just don't pry or twist with it.

I bought these from KnifeCountryUSA on Amazon. In order to best describe the sharpness of these blades I suggest you go to your knife drawer and find the dullest butter knife you own, then try to cut something with the back of the butter knife. I tried all 3 blades, all too dull to cut through the plastic packaging they came in.
OK, no problem. I'll just return it. Wait, it turns out KnifeCountryUSA has a 20% "restocking" fee on all merchandise the is in a condition other than "received damaged" AND I have to pay for return shipping.
Looks like I'm out the better part of $15.26.
Don't put yourself in my place.

I wish they were cheaper, but this is the best price I've found for ceramic razor blades that fit conventional razor knives. I can buy a ceramic pairing knife for 5$, which I also use at work, and I do. These just happen to fill another tool gap quite well.

Accept that they are fragile, cutting edges and not steel. Once you do that you're fine. I've been using the first side of the first blade for quite some time now - I can't see any blunting. Recommended.
