This is the stuff that ended my search for the perfect white ink, and believe me it was a long journey. I have tried manga white, liquid white, tube whites of all brands, but this was IT!
It comes in a little jar and the white stuff is very thick. You have to add a few droplets of water to dilute it a little for proper use, and thus you can control just how watery you want it to be. I like mine super thick and it holds up great and dries without cracking. The white is very opaque and will cover anytihng you want. If I make it very thick, it even bevels on the paper. Doesn't smudge after drying or leave a powdery mess. If you dilute it too much, it will lose the opaqueness and turn watery. But diluted just right, it will produce the creamiest, finest lines you can imagine without losing its quality.
I have had a tin for a year and there is still half left. It does have a tendency to crust around the edges and ruin your brushes if you don't clean it after, and you have to keep adding water as it dries up. But overall I love this stuff and will keep going back for more.

I'm a calligrapher, and we (calligraphers) love to use this for writing on dark papers. It's a staple in any seasoned calligrapher's tool kit. You must water it down because it's concentrated, but it makes an amazing white "ink" that is richer and more opaque than white ink from Higgins, etc. It looks divine on black cardstock.

I agree with some of the other reviews I have read. This product is very opaque, just work with the consistency. Can be used for highlights or fine white detailed lines in watercolor media & creates effects more difficult to create with white ink or white watercolo. Dr Ph Martin also offers quality calligraphy ink and hydrus watercolors which are also available at Amazon & select art stores. I think illustrators, manga artists, watercolorists would appreciate this product.

I got Dr. Ph Martin's Bleed Proof White for watercolor painting rather than gouache and it works great for things like birch trees, snow, clouds, and so on. It is much thicker than the watercolor paints but I use things like a straight razor dipped into a small amount of it straight and scrape it onto the paper. Works great!

I'm a casual calligrapher and I often use this in my pointed pen work. And I've also used this for brush lettering. This would be even useful for adding back in the highlights in watercolor or mixed media work.
What I do is scoop out some of the thick paint and place it on my ceramic palette. I add a little water until it's just thin enough to flow smoothly (I've come to be able to eyeball it now). I load my nib with this by dipping a filbert brush into the paint and water mixture and pressing it against the reservoir on my nip. I test the flow on a scrap piece of paper to ensure a good balance of flow and opacity.
This product can be watered down for a less than opaque look, as well. It is like a gouache so be aware that it can reactivate if it got wet even after it dried. If that bothers you, I'd try Holbein acryla gouache instead (also works great with dip pens).
This is a versatile product and I'm sure you could find a great use for it but it you already have a white gouache you love, this may not be necessary.
