Update- two years later and it is still like new. No chipping paint, or visible signs of wear and tear. It has taken a beating from my kids and it still looks great. Every five or six months it needs the screws tightened with an allen wrench. Other than that it is perfect.

I put this toy together while watching TV and trying to shoo away my 1 year old who wanted to grab the pieces. Still, it did not take long. All you use is an Allen wrench for assembly. The wood seems very sturdy. I like the way the chair is designed because my daughter's dolls (Melissa and Doug and cabbage patch dolls) really sit up in the seat and don't fall out. This was one of the most important things to me when choosing a highchair because what kid is going to play with a doll highchair if their dolls slide out of it every time they put it in?

The pink and white colors are very attractive. The chair has a nice height to it but does not easily tip over. We have the Hape cradle also and we are just as impressed with the design and sturdiness of that piece. I recommend getting both the Hape high chair and cradle because together they make a very cute matching set for your child's dolls! Girl's Rock-a-Bye Cradle
