I have a golden retriever and a border collie. I would like to address three common issues in this thread

(1) we go out and throw the frisbee a couple times per week and the pull and drag everytime they bring it back to me. it has held its own for the past 2 months.

(2) the stitching has started to come undone, but that is to be expected when they play as hard as they do. Dont use it as a chew toy (which is not what it is advertised as in the first place) and it will last plenty long. plus, when the stitching comes undone, it still flies fine and the pups dont eat any thread.

(3) this does not fly like a normal disk. however that being said, after 10-15 throws, you begin to realize how you need to throw to maximize distance. My border collie catches this thing 30 yard downfield. it gets plenty of air time, and your dogs will love it.

If I didn't keep flying the Chuckit Paraflight out on to the mud flats or off a cliff I wouldn't be going through so many. I say the size doesn't matter because large dogs try to steal it and play. It obviously doesn't work in gale force winds but it does goes the distance. It is rugged and takes a lot of doggy teeth tugging. It can be cleaned off under the water or put in the washing machine. If I put 20 toys out on the floor my dog will always pick the Cuckit Paraflight first. I get tired of throwing it long before my dog gets tired of fetching. For those dogs that don't like the hard plastic frisbee discs this is an excellent alternative.

My dog lives for a good game of Frisbee. However, she does not like hard plastic discs. As such, I buy her floppy, cloth ones.

We have gone through a series of these that she enjoyed. They flew well and for quite a distance but we're not very durable. Seams would split or she would chew threw the fabric in a matter of weeks.

I had been told about Chuckit toys and decided to give them a try. I bought both the squirrel because I thought it would be great for nighttime play and the disc for distance throwing.

Initially, they seemed to be better products as the material seemed more durable and the squirrel had glow in the dark tabs. I was, however, sadly disappointed the moment we used them.

The squirrel barely flies at all and constantly tilts. Also, the glow in the dark patches do not retain much light which made it difficult for her to find at night.

Likewise, the disc flies at a sharp angle and has no air time. It just lands on its side and rolls away. While my dog will retrieve it, she would rather use the old raggedy discs so she can catch them in the air.

If you are reading this my suggestion would be to go with either of these toys instead:

We're enjoying our 4th one now.
Yes they float, so our trips to the lake or boating are fun even for the dog.
We must keep in mind they are cloth, so a game of tug between dogs will be traumatic to the disk.
Still a lot of fun, even the old chewed up disks still fly.

The cheap plastic frisbees from the pet food store lasted all of a day with my dog, sometimes less (as did the more expensive plastic frisbees). He loves playing though, so I kept buying, to the tune of about 10 per month. They would get harder and harder to throw as he bit the edges, and would cut or blister my fingers after a while, and overall they were a pretty crappy experience.

I finally decided to give this a try, and it has lasted great. It floats, which was a requirement, since we have a pond that he likes to 'wash' his frisbees in when they get too muddy. I did find that you need to throw these a bit lighter, since otherwise the dog cannot keep up and catch it on the fly, but once I got used to throwing it differently, I found that his percentage of catches increased. He is super happy about that, and I am super happy to not be constantly running out of frisbees, or messing up my fingers on the rough edges of a partially chewed disk. I got the Large size for a german shepherd.

My dog is a pit bull / weimaraner mix with a soft mouth for catching prey / frisbees but is also a power chewer. I did not let her use this as a chew toy, but within the first 10 minutes of playing fetch with the Paraflight, she severed the outer ring completely in one spot and mostly in another. It still flies somewhat ok, but I don't have high hopes for its longevity if she did this much damage in one play session.

The size and weight is perfect for my mini aussie. BUT, within a week the fabric came loose from the stitching. The stitch used is not adequate on the type of fabric and the fabric simply pulls from the stitch with minimal use. After reading other reviews I made sure not to let dog chew on it or to pull it from his mouth. The damage is a result of throwing it and the dog carrying back to me. I wish the manufacturer would do a better job on joining the 2 fabrics. Perhaps it would stay together longer.
