This works perfectly and without issue. After my motherboards card died this made an awesome replacement. You can't seemingly get these at any store any more locally. My only complaint is the card lowering this to 4 stars is it literally increases the amount of time it takes for a computer to boot up as it runs it's own thing at startup. This card saved me for my semester at school and was nice, quick, and affordable.

Either not Linux compatible or got a defective item. Tried on a openSUSE 12.3 x64 PC.
It is detected and gets an IP but the connection is intermittent. Also, it is causing intermittent hard lock-up.
Got another card, different manufacturer but same chipset and works great in the same system.
Not worth spending any calories to return it.

EDIT: Contacted by the seller the next day after review and was offered a replacement or refund (no return needed).

Gigabit????? NOT!!! Had it installed, installed the driver and could only get 100Mbps Fast Ethernet connection. Updated the driver straight from Realtek's site and still, same results. Thought maybe it was my ethernet cable. Grabbed my laptop, plugged the same cable in and got 1Gbps connection. Maybe it's the card, only one way to confirm.

Went to Fry's and got the TP-LINK TG-3468, installed it, and got a 1Gbps connection. I should've just went with TP-LINk instead of trying to save a dollar or two by going with this piece of junk. Now ended costing me twice what I would've paid originally had I gone with the TG-3468.

The TP-LINK is sold here as well for the same price for the curious. My recommendation, STAY AWAY FROM THIS if you are expecting to get Gigabit connection.
