I bought this tank and made some mods to accommodate my needs. It now serves two purposes. I use it as a degassing/vacuum chamber to remove bubbles for silicone molds, and a pressure tank to crush the air bubbles in my liquid urethane casts. It holds a vacuum at 29in of mercury w/o leaking. Same deal with pushing 60PSI (it's max rating btw) of compressed air - no leaks. I've been using it for several months now and it's holding up wonderfully well. Seems well built. The packaged arrived in awful shape and I was concerned about damage and/or missing wheels (the only part requiring assembly). But, everything was there and no scratches or dents. I thought the price was a bit steep in all honesty, but I really can't complain. It really is a quality product. For what I do, a decent sized glass port to peep inside the chamber would have been cool. But here again, it's out of the scope of its intended use.

It was missing the paint crank. When I was trying to assemble the wheels on the bottom, the zinc plating on the nut was peeling and I got a piece of it embedded in my finger, ouch. I've been too busy to return it, so not sure if I should even keep it. I usually never post reviews, but just thought I pass on what happened in this unit.

I bought this pressure pot used to cast acrylic in. The pot shipped quick, when I received it there was a pin for one of the locking arms missing. I have a lathe so I made the pin. For me it worked out great for someone else the might would of had to do something different. out side of the pin this is everything I was needing in a pressure pot.

This pot is sturdy and well put together. The hardware is of good quality and the locking mechanism is more secure than the more common one where the bolt digs into the lid. This one has the welded supports on the lid for the wing nuts to rest on so longevity won't be a problem.

The instruction manual OTOH leaves much to be desired. There are grammar and formatting errors galore, it is poorly written and hard to understand, and the exploded diagram shows a completely different pot. It is incomplete, failing to describe and explain the function of each piece of hardware. If this is your first paint pot, you'll have to do some research and figure things out on your own and hope you don't make a mistake and cause an accident. You can check out the PDF version of the manual on the company's website before you buy.

For something as dangerous as a pressurized pot, there should be clear and complete instructions regarding its use and this pot fails miserably in that department.

*** Updated April 20, 2014 ***

After only a few uses this pressure pot started leaking air and wouldn't hold pressure. The leak came from a large threaded plug on the top of the lid which seems to have no practical use. I contacted the company to ask for a replacement plug since this should be covered under warranty. I got some excuse about it being wear and tear because the threaded plug has a bushing/gasket that seems to have been damaged or compromised. There is absolutely no way that this issue would be wear and tear because the plug is not removed or moved during use. It has no functional purpose, it is just there.

I asked to speak to a manager and got the run around.
