After some experimentation at home, and getting decent results, decided to leave my Nikon D90 home this vacation and try just using the TG2.

Sure enough 3 days into vacation - the camera starts doing weird things - starts up, no visible signs of water and seems ok but none of the buttons work.

Look inside, no water, re-seat battery, memory card - same result. I even checked for a firmware problem - still buttons not working and camera can't focus or do anything but take one picture at whatever Fstop and focal lenght it started up at.

On a tip from my brother, I swap in the OEM Olympus battery and presto - no more issues. Camera works fine and has worked fine for a month since.

Note that all three batteries appeared to work fine for the first few days.

It seems like enabling the GPS and altimeter pieces put extra load on the battery and maybe the voltage drops and cause the camera to spaz out.

Not sure if this is a defective battery, bad battery design or maybe even a touchy camera, but as my brother indicated he's had it happen many times with cameras and other devices using off brand batteries . . . . . well keep it in mind I guess.

The charger and batteries work wonderfully. The batteries fit snug in the charger and were refueled in a couple of hours. The charger also had no trouble recharging the OEM battery.

This is a great deal and arrived exactly as described in the ad.

I was hesitant to order this product because there were a few less than stellar reviews. I can say unequivically that the product is an excellent substitute for the Olympus LI-90B. Both the batteries and the charger work perfectly without any problems. I experience none of the problems described by others. The package arrived with only the charger and the batteries were missing. I was quickly shipped two batteries at no charge to resolve that problem. I have to tell you that I think many reviews on Amazon are written by people who aren't capable of screwing in a light bulb let alone reading the directions on how to do it. Buy this product with confidence.

Great concept but failed on me at the worst time possible. First of all I have to admit that the charger and battery seem like a great idea at a great price. The charger is nice and light and the 2 batteries I received were actually marked as 1900mAh instead of 1500mAh as shown. The charger is portable for travel as the AC plugs fold in. The dual voltage capability (100-240V) removable cigarette lighter plug and an included type C AC adapter are a nice touch for added versatility. When I first received the charger I charged both batteries fully with no problems but never got around to using the batteries. I am now currently on a 3 week vacation and the first time I tried recharging a depleted battery I noticed the charging LED was not lighting! I rechecked all contacts were clean and tight and confirmed that the outlet was working. The unit died on the first time I tried using it ON MY VACATION!!! Now I am stuck with with only 1 fully charged battery, one half dead and one fully depleted OEM battery when I still have 2-1/2 weeks left of vacation! Not to mention the fact that the return period has expired so I am stuck with a useless charger unless I can open it up and figure out what is wrong with it. Now I am hoping I can find a compatible charger in a pinch in this country which hopefully won't cost me an arm and a leg - NOT A HAPPY CUSTOMER!

BLUF: This is a great deal. It is much more economical than the OEM solution of approximately $90 for a spare battery and charger. The charger may look big in the pictures, but does have a surprising small form factor (3.75" L x 1.75"W x 1.5" T).

Purchased this not knowing what to expect -- you get what you pay for type of thing. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the product was better than described. The capacity of the batteries was 2100-mAh, but were listed as 1500-mAh. This means more camera time/pictures...approximately 56% more than the OEM battery of 1350-mAh. If you trust the CIPA rating, which the Olympus TG-3 is rated at 330 pictures with the OEM battery, then the number of pictures taken with this higher capacity battery would be around 514. So, whatever the operating time is under your "standard conditions", these batteries would increase it by roughly 50%. For those of you unfamiliar with the physics of batteries: equate battery voltage to water pressure; capacity to the size of the water reservoir. More water is better, but if comes out at too high a pressure it can rupture the plumbing (electronic circuits in this case). Keeping within the manufacturers voltage rating (3.6V in this case) is definitely recommended, especially for sensitive electronics.

I didn't buy this product because it included a screen protector. It's not bad, but for the long term, there are better options (e.g. Zagg). If you need one, it comes with a universal screen protector that must be cut-to-size.

This product has two anomalies associated with it: 1) the battery label/markings are incorrect; 2) the charger will not charge the batteries unless you insert the battery first and then plug it in to an outlet.
