In a world full of musical crap out comes this work of art from the ever so charming Breakbot. Let me just say this album is sooooo fresh. Its gonna make you groove and dance like we are back in 1974. This album features the talented singer Ruckazoid who i swear sounds like Michael Jackson himself. THIS ALBUM IS LIKE MICHAEL JACKSONS OFF THE WALL & DAFT PUNKS DISCOVERY PUT TOGETHER. ITS SO BRILLIANT! IF YOU MISS THE MUSIC FROM THE 70S AND 80S GET THIS ALBUM. :)

The reviewer who called it MJ meets Daft Punk nailed it, although I'd say that Hall & Oates are also present in the minutes of this meeting. Private eyes are watching YOU! Look, maybe this isn't the most groundbreaking musical exploration ever, but it is so darn expertly-done that you really can't get mad about it. For me, it's maybe a bit more palatable than, say, Chromeo, because the wink is not nearly as pronounced. It's also more palatable than Pacific! (who guest on two songs) because it's not trying to play nearly as precious or winsome. You can throw it on at a party and dance to it, in other words, and not have people think you're dissecting keyboard-based dance pop from yesterdecade as part of a graduate Cultural Studies class. This is not a museum piece or an intellectual exercise any more than was Daft Punk's seminal Discovery, which is the only album I can rightfully compare it to. It doesn't belong on display in the Louvre, but it's as French as chocolate mousse floating in the Seine.

This album is so upbeat and danceable all the way through that I can hardly contain myself. I MUST dance when I listen to it. I am crazy about the obvious Michael Jackson and Daft Punk influence. "Fantasy" is practically indistinguishable from MJ. Sure that makes the album feel a little derivative and safe, but it's done so well that I don't really care. Some of the tracks are a little cheese ball, but even those have grown on me with repeat listens. This is a surprising gem that my ears can't get enough of!

The album is one of my favorite albums to have been released in a long long time. However the issue is not with the album itself but the mastering for the vinyl edition of the album. Whoever released this vinyl edition should be ashamed to be in the music industry. They took an amazing album and made it sound all muddled and horrible. The bass tones are all drowned out where there should be more treble. Overall this gets a 3 since I already owned the digital copy anyway and was just looking to upgrade it. However if you are looking to do the same don't buy this. The digital copy is the best way to enjoy this album.

At long last, Breakbot delivers his first full length album and it does not disappoint. It is definitely on the same level as his single Baby I'm Yours, which is towards the end of the album. I love the first three songs, but the whole album is good start to finish. A great album to add to any dance and funk library. It sounds great alone, and even better mixed in with other favorites, like Flight Facilities or Daft Punk.

This album is my favorite of the year, and in my drunken state I might (actually I will) say favorite in the last 17 years. This is the first album I have purchased since Nelly Furtado's Whoa Nelly! back in y2k. I think that says a lot. There is not one song on it that's not re-playable, its beautiful. The joy doesn't stop. The dancing doesn't stop. Happiness is only a mile away... or in this case $ 35.17.
