Pros: This light is very bright. It was also larger than I expected which is nice. The white led lights seem to flash brighter than the yellow. All 3 patterns are great as seen in the video. Love that it adjusts enough so that it works on my Jeep wrangler's windshield (which is at a more vertical angle than most vehicles) and still points straight ahead. Great value for the money.

Cons: Yes the cord and plug are cheap looking as others reviewers suggest. I am careful and haven't had a problem. Also, the suction cup did not stick overnight on a cooler night. But never falls off while driving.

Overall its great.

Video review compares this light (White / Amber Warning Caution Van Truck 8-LED Emergency Strobe Light Lamp Bar #72 with the 16 LED light High Power 16 LED Emergency 1W Strobe Light Amber/White. The inner lights are the 16 LED lights, the outer lights are the 8 LED lights being sold here.

Pros: Cheap, very visible after dusk, has enough patterns.

Cons: Too dim to be effective in clear-sky daylight, does not remember last pattern set after switched off, each unit has a slightly different clock frequency for cycling the lights, so if you run two or more at a time the patterns will not stay in synchronization for more than a few seconds.

I recently purchase two of these units for my work truck and almost immediately one has failed due to faulty wiring inside the socket housing. Some simple rework of the wiring solved the problem. These lights are bright enough to warn drivers of your presence at night, buy not extremely bright for day use.

I actually purchased this because I have 22" rims on my car. Anyone with rims know that while they look great, hitting a pot hole could have you waiting on the side of the road for a tow truck given how tiny your low profile tires end up being. In my area pot hole season (i.e. after snow season) means the plows and salt have tore up the road, any little previously existing pothole becomes magnified after a plow craps it up even more.

After having bent rims a few times and being stuck on the side of the road waiting for a tow truck with cars whizzing by me, I decided I needed a nice strobe light to warn other vehicles. While I would have rather the red and blue version, that's illegal in my state.

This light was for my application was designed to sit on the roof or trunk since my windows are tinted pretty dark. That created a slight problem, it doesn't come with any magnet (that's OK, it wasn't designed for roof use, it's designed for interior use). I just purchased some epoxy, and a strong magnet and viola.

I found the light BRIGHT sufficiently bright to warn other drivers in day or night. Actually I hadn't tested it in the dark, but it was bright enough in the day that I'm sure this thing will blast with brightness in the night.

I like the idea of having various flashing patterns changeable by pressing a button. The power cord is a nice length though it could stand to be a bit long for those who plan on temporarily placing it outiside of their vehicle. Again this is not water-proof or designed for that so keep that in mind, I'm just mentioning it.

Overall it was a good buy. I hope I never have to use it again (yeah right). But I'm confident in it's abilities.

I bought this to have for safety if I ever get a flat tire in the evening. I have dark tinted windows in my car, and the light doesn't get thru it very well. I think from a distance in the dark, it would be noticeable, but not blinding like emergency vehicle lights. For $12, I'll keep it in the trunk. I'm going to watch locally for a decent Whelen or Code 3 equivalent, which can be had for $60-$100 used. I thought it would be a little brighter, but the LEDs just aren't of the quality I was hoping for. Not a total bust, but not a total win either.

Also, looking at the picture, I had ordered an amber/white LED light. I received amber/amber. Now I'm going to file a claim.

Received this light and plugged it into a 12v power source. Turned on, very bright. Nice, right? Nope. Put it back in the box to bring to my truck. Took it back out of the box, plugged it into the cig lighter (to test it out, was planning on hard wiring it ultimately) and it didn't work. Would not turn on. The wire coming out of the light itself seemed really loose and had about 2" of play, obviously there was a bad connection inside the light box itself. So not happy with the quality wiring-wise.

I would like to comment on build quality and design though. The reflector setup is built very well, all metal design and the light housing is also very sturdy. While the pivot point is held in place with two nuts which can be tightened once in position (but can easily come loose), it gives the user options in regard to mounting position. The light head can be pointed outward so when stuck on a slanted front windshield, the light goes straight ahead. However the light head can also be rotated, meaning that it can be mounted to the vertical rear glass of a pickup and the light head points straight out the back. It's great, although I've never had good luck with simple suction cup mounted accessories, so I imagine a permanent bracket would need to be made for permanent mounting. Longer cord would probably be nicer too, although hardwiring is always an easy option.
