When I received the regulator, I was disappointed to find :1.)blister pack clear plastic had blemishes, creases and showed signs that it had been opened-up repeatedly before,2.)protruded snap-on stubs were rounded off and could not lock properly,3.)CGA-580 hexagonal nut surface was dented and 4.)T-handle's screw threads smeared with black grease(it was assembled before).I'm an overseas customer and I took a calculated risk to purchase this product as it's unavailable here and am reluctant to return the product as I have to bear cost. This product was sold by HVAC Parts Warehouse and they do not represent a Responsible and Respectable Establishment (by passing off a returned product)in my opinion.

I was hesitant to write a review on this product because I have virtually no experience with this but then I thought that the experience of a newbie might be worthwhile.

Last year, I converted to nitrogen for both my truck and bicycle tires. I bought all the stuff I thought I'd need but the pressure regulator soon proved itself to be a PITA. The dial was small and when fully tightened, the gauge faced down making it difficult to read. The Uniweld RHP400 was my solution.

When attaching the regulator to the tank, you can position the gauges to the needed angle before the final tightening. Also, for those who are new to this stuff, the two gauges are very nice. The right gauge tells how much pressure is in the tank and the left gauge tells you the output pressure. Finally, there is a fitting on the bottom of the unit in the picture. If you're using a 1/4" hose, it must be removed. Believe me, it's on there tight but it's easily removed if you mount the regulator on the tank first and then use a good tight-fitting wrench to remove it. Be careful because the fitting is brass and the flats can be easily rounded off.

It took a few minutes of fiddling with the value to get the output pressure right but after that it's been fine.

I would also like to point out that when trying to learn about this product, I called Uniweld and they were very helpful.

Regulator worked perfect for charging my coilover shocks. Good quality. Great price. Shipping was very fast. Would defiantly recommend this regulator if your pitching together a charge tank for shocks.

I don't think this is really made of brass. It seems to be a plating thats scratches off, revealing silver metal underneath.

No matter -- this regulator is just designed for intermittent use; "testing" purposes as the packaging describes it.

I'm using this for my Bilstein nitrogen charging setup. Works perfectly for what I need. I probably will use it for 10 minutes in a whole year.

Uniweld claims these are made in USA, but I am wondering if that really means they are assembled in USA from Chinese made parts. This is a case of you get what you pay for. Adjustment is touchy if you are trying to get a low flow for nitrogen purging during brazing of HVAC copper lines. It can be used for that, but if I did it every day, I would not put up with this regulator. My recommendation is spend an extra $30 and get a Smith.

We just started offering N2 at my motorcycle shop. This regulator is exactly what I was looking for. The local gas dealer was selling it for $90.00. Ordered it on a Tues and got it that Friday. I'm not an expert on gauges but it has a good quality feel to it and after 2 months it hasn't leaked a pound. The gauges are easy to read, I am very pleased with this product.

This is a great unit. We use it for nitrogen flush packaging of organic hops. We can take the 1800 PSI supply tank and easily regulate it down to the 8-10 PSI range for a gentle nitrogen flush that will not blow the papery dried hops out of the packaging. Will definitely buy another when needed.

I used it to find a leak and recharge my AC system by putting in 450 psi of nitrogen so I could find a leak. It turns a slow leak into a faster leak for bubble detection. I don't know why it has a 0-600 psi gauge if it wont deliver 600 lbs. My system was marked for 450PSI max and someone could bust something if they were not careful.
