Oh, talk about money well spent! After installation, the difference was night and day! My decibel reader measured a 15-20 db drop after installation! I didn't notice any odor. It was very easy to install, the hardest part was cutting the sheets into tiny pieces and then trying to figure out how to make them look pretty. Don't sweat about the temperature rating if you only plan soundproof the cabin. I will definitely be back for more sound deadening products!

Applied to the 4 doors, inside and out, to improve car audio sound. There is no longer distortion at max volume! No rattling from four wheeling or on washboard roads, any more. There are no rattles from the speakers any more, and even stopped the majority of rattling sounds from the 2700 watt sub woofer. It is almost silent outside with the windows up with the stereo at very high volume. DB meter reads 6 DB higher in the car; pblly keeping more noise inside. Road sound is amazingly quiet, almost dangerous. lastly, it is much warmer in there. My 2002 ford exploder sounds and feels much more luxury now.

This mat proved to be exactly what I was looking for in a sound deadening material. I did not want to spend the money on Dyna-Mat. I installed new door speakers in my Chevy Trailblazer. While I had the door panels off, I applied this to the inside of the door (backside of the door skin) and on the surface of inner door frame. I did not use the supplied degreaser but used Kleen Strip Prep All instead. Be careful if you do this as the prep all will make this mat stick like a magnet with just laying it in place. I used the roller and had no issues applying. I found it is better to do manageable strips of 12x18 or smaller. Much faster too. With limited waste, I was able to do all four doors with just over 25 sq. ft. That is a single application, again to the inside of the outer door skin and the inner door frame for each of the 4 doors. I had a mishap and had to try to pull off a piece that I had only stuck on by hand, needless to say it was extremely difficult. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to add some higher quality sound to their vehicle. This product will remove a lot of reverberation and vibrations in your cabin and doors and at about half the cost of the more familiar name brands.

GTMat is super easy to apply! I heat it up with a worklight that has a protective grille and gets pieces warm. This stuff simply works to eliminate virtually all the rattles in my Jeep Liberty. I makes the car feel solid, like a luxury SUV. I recommend the 50mil as it is cheaper, easier to cut and apply vs thicker stuff. You can always overlap, but honestly, you only need 1 layer on metal panels! The goal is to "dampen" and NOT "sound proof"...although is does reduce bad sounds from your speakers. I highly recomnmend replacing crappy stock paper speakers with quality speakers liek Infinity, JBL, Alpine, etc to get the most out of your labor...believe me, it will take 2+ hrs a door doing it right. You don't need to cover all metal, but as much as you can the outer and inner skin. 50 SQ FT will be enough for 2 cars, I did my Jeep and Mazdaspeed3 with plenty leftover. So for your hard work, you will enjoy what Audi, BMW, Merc, Lexus feels like AND your music will sound so much better. Get the luxury drive without paying for one! I no longer feel the need to buy an expensive car $40k+ when I can transform a $24k vehicle to feel and sound like $40k+...I myself could not believe it until did it! After doing 2 doors, you will get faster and better! Then do it for your friends and family.

The price is reflected in the quality of this insulation. It's not as heavy and of the same quality as Dyna-Mat or others I've used in the past. The material applies well, however, and will work sufficiently to stop most of the heat through the floor boards. I used an adhesive promoter just to make sure it sticks in overhead applications.
